Want to have a Ferrari 360 for a little under $40k?
Quote:
The Romanians are not the richest people in the world, but it’s sure they are inventive. A Romanian has transformed a Toyota MR2 in a Ferrari 360. The total costs? Only $38,000, 1/4 of the price of a real Ferrari.
You want an expensive supercar in your yard? Get an old Toyota, buy a Ferrari body kit, and get to work. So did our guy. All with only $38,000, one quarter of the price of the real car. He bought an eight years old Toyta MR2, only that now he transformed it into a Ferrari.
The guy managed to impress everyone in his hometown, as, one day, a fire-red Ferrari 360 was getting out of his garage instead of the MR2. But the Ferrari is the wolf in sheep’s closing, eeer… or maybe the other way around… For several months, the Romanian transformed the old car into a Ferrari.
He ordered the necessary parts in US all at a price of $32,000.
Being a car enthusiast, I took the project as a challenge. I bought a Toyota and then I ordered the body kit from US. The rest was done be me, of course, with the help of some real mechanics. We started in April 2009, and in November the car was ready for road. It almost looks like the real 360 and attracts looks like a real Ferrari,” said Roman Tanca, the owner of the car.
Now the car is for sale. And because he drove it for several months the price dropped to $33,000.

tony your behind the times Ive posted this ish before
google DNA360. Theres a guy in MN that I met who is doing one, the kit was $15,000 shipped and he bought the car for $11,000. The kit isn't an exact fit obviously there is some fabrication you have to do but very cool project none-the-less.

Eh... I haven't seen it before and I just recently seen this and thought it was pretty cool. I know there's going to be some nah goers bashing on (oh it's going to be slow anyways blah blah blah), but... MR2's are quick as fuck if build properly, and could very well be a lot quicker than a 360 all for a price... Not as much haha!

I would rather take a 2nd gen MR2 over a 3rd gen, and I would keep it stock body, put the money into the engine.

Been doing this for years. Even better I would get an 88 fiero, Get the kit w/ a swap and all otther parts needed to make it perform as good as it looks for about 25k. Been around kit cars my entire life. dad has the ZR2 kit car, 4.9 swap in it.
