Default which civic to choose

ok so i found two civics the first is a civic dx with a gsr swap its not bard or smog but the guy is willing to take under 3k for it. its got a decent body and itnerior and the motor is near stock but has a ported manifold and higher compression pistons. the other is a ek hatch with a b16a2 swap with lots of engine goodies but the guy wants 4k plus.

my question is whats the bettter one to build with and what seems more fair. and how hard will it be to bar and smog the dx and basically wahts the better deal. i was also wanting something more stock so i was stearing for the dx but please all opinions matter thanks.

If it's already swapped, chances are it's been at least beaten a little bit. People swap motors for a reason.

Try to find a nice stock civic, driven by an old lady. GREAT base to work with there, and most likely has rarely or never been pushed ever (depending on prior owners, of course).
