Default Hey, Guys ! A/C question . . .

Hi Folks - I just bought my first Honda Civic on New Years Eve. It's a 2000 CX Hatch, with 64k miles on it. I've had fantastic results with their bikes over the years, and figured I'd try one on for a work car.

The thing has NO OPTIONS, and I'm going to add A/C only. I know most of you guys go the other direction for performance reasons - but I need A/C in my work car. I'll be looking for an A/C-equipped donor car in the local 'yards tomorrow, and I see new compressors, evaporators, condensors, etc... are fairly cheap on eBay.

Have any of you guys ADDED air to an un-optioned CX, and found any "problem areas" ?

From what I've read - '96 - 2000 are the years I can pillage parts from ?

Any data that could save me time or a headache would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,
W#1

hey yeah i have a 96 dx coupe and it didnt come with a/c but i put it in. you allready have all the wiring. your best bet is to get it out of a single car if possible. you need all the piping, ac condensor, condensor fanw/ shroud compressor, drier, evaporator, relays, and interior climate control bezel w/ ac switch and a new oring kit from napa or another auto parts store. it is going to take you multiple hours to take it out and about 2 hours to put in. depending on ur budget change out the compressor. and better off buying a new drier seeing that it is only 20.00 and once it is in the air it goes bad pretty fast. sorry bout the paragraph, but any ?'s and i might be able to answer them for u -Will-
