Default p28 Ecu question

New to the honda scene bought my first honda. http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=200517

As seen in the thread previous I'm new to Hondas but I do good with various things around the car my dad was a mechanic.

Now to my question. From what i've seen on the Ecu(havn't opened it yet) that its for a auto transmission. last digits of serial being a52. The car began running hot and called the guy i bought it off of, is very nice and said the "tune" might of reset when they installed the radio because the battery was disconnected and that might be why it runs hot. Ill open it and see if its chipped tomorrow. Would it actually be runing hot from a to lean of a mixture? any input is helpful. Ill post a picture of the board tomorrow.

I believe its the chip with SST on it. As far as reading the code you would need to google a way to make a connector to do that or take it to a tuner.
