Thanks guys. It's my first build so cross my fingers I can stay motivated and it doesn't break the bank. Enjoying it so far and learning a lot. I'm hoping to paint it next couple weeks. Just waiting for a driver mirror to arrive, and have to resand the entire car with finer grit, apparently 220 isn't fine enuf

side mirrors are taken off, some rust and dents (on the piece above the front window) got sanded, and front bumper is mostly shaved.

i can't wait either. well i can and i can't. i'm going to miss having a project once i finish so i might just keep working on it every year and make it better and better. one major thing each year. this year - restore, next - turbo, after - ? who knows.

anyway, update! finally gave it a test start.... NO IDLE BOUNCE!! hooray it idles like normal again. found out my buddy used my garage and couldn't push the del sol back in (there is an incline going towards the garage door) so he took it for a rip around the block (with no hood, or doors and the rear lip hanging half on half off). said it felt pretty peppy (no turbo yet just stock).

finished applying bondo to all dents. will sand the bondo tonight as well as the rest of the surface rust. then after that i have to wait for my buddies help before i can start painting, so i will start putting the rest of the interior back together. install stereo, carpet, seats etc.

got two quotes from shops here for a gallon of white primer. one shop said $96.77 the other said $350.55 so i think the second one was on crack.. so next paycheck i'll buy some primer.

you know why that car felt peppy? you took of about 1/4 the total weight off the car, power to weight my friend. i am betting the top was off too? probably not the best thing to do as it will flex the body, just a heads up.

haha thats exactly what i told him when he told me it was peppy. i said theres no weight there. everythings off.

urethane primer you say? alright thanks. i'll go buy some soon.

so last night broke the sander. luckily its mastercraft so i'll go back to the store and exchange it for a new one. so i spent the rest of the night hand sanding everything. think its pretty much ready for primer. after i get the new sander i need to go over the entire car top to bottom slowly again and it should be good. sorry forgot to take car pics.

i also removed the valve cover and put on some aircraft stripper and started painting that. i do have pics of that.

well my brother asked me if he could borrow the del sol for his grad.. which is june 24.. i want to say yes and just leave it in primer for grad. it'll look better then just sanded.. hopefully i can manage that. so there is a little push. still haven't decided the final color yet however. thinking white, teal or respray samba green. leaning towards white tho
