Well you'd obviously need a vtec head. Either the b16 or b18(gsr) heads are the popular choice. But I think you have a lot more researching to do because these questions shouldn't be asked. But I'll answer them anyway because we all start somewhere. You'll need to piece together a vtec conversion kit. It usually includes an oil line, sandwich adapter, dowel pins, vtec timing belt(which ever head you use) and vtec head gasket. Id recommend that you upgrade other things as well since the motor is out. Arp head studs and arp rod bolts are HIGHLY recommended. You might as well get a new oil pump and water pump Do not cheap out on the build! If you do you'll soon be making a "I blew my ls-vtec motor" thread. People do not build the motor correct and then complain later that the motor is reliable. And don't forget this important important important part...get it tuned!!

have you already tried bolting up the distributor onto the head? mine didnt fit.
the oil line goes from sandwich adapter to a hole in the head..the dowel pins go on the block..dont really know what they are for but you need them..
arp rod bolts are really recommended too.
its good to have a mildly built head but its more important to have your block built too to withstand the pressure..

i've tried the ls distributor on a gsr head as well and had to cut as well..the non perfect fitment was noticeable during the tune so i recommend getting a gsr distibutor..sure it'll work but under tuning if the evidence is there that something is wrong..its not worth it..but its your choice..i just wouldnt cheap out on a ls-v build
honda should carry dowel pins if you didnt already get them

you need a chipped VTEC ecu with a map for your LS/Vtec. It will run like total garbage on your stock ecu. Do NOT rev that b**** like a gsr or b16 the LS bottom end is not built for that.

you should of just bought a golden eagle kit would save you ALOT of headaches
