Steady white smoke; warm engine; any air temperature. This is bad news. The engine's coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber and creating a steady flow of steam. Caused by a leaking head gasket or a crack in a cylinder head, most commonly in the exhaust port area. Usually requires serious surgery on the engine.

Puff of white smoke during cranking, before the engine starts; cold engine; gas or diesel. This smoke is unburned fuel vapor being pumped out the exhaust pipe. The white is tiny droplets of fuel. In a gas engine, the spark plugs aren't firing, or the fuel mixture is too rich to ignite. It may mean the choke plate is stuck closed, or a load of bad gasoline. In a diesel, this cranking smoke indicates defective glow plugs, but may also come from low compression caused by worn rings or valves.

u should be able to smell the coolant if that is what is burning and the car will eventually overheat once the coolant level is low . . . . . . get a leak down test done

You got coolant getting into the combustion chamber. There are many ways that it can get in there also.

Dosent necasarily mean a head gasket is blown. THough that may be the case. You could have bad valve seals.

White smoke. Most of the time means your piston rings are gone......

sell it to a junk yard, j/p if water is coming out your exaust you could have a cracked block or head or a bad head or intake gasket. check to see if you got water in your oil if so i highly reccoment drain the fluids and chase the water with wd40. ( spray it in the spark plug holes) this will save whatever is left of your piston rings. if you let the water stay in the cylinder's in the next month you will notice particles of your piston rings flying out of the tail pile. water will rust the hell out of them and then your due for a rebuild.
