my house got broken into last night.

quick background:
3 story house split in half house, my room is on the 3rd floor my best friend has the room across from me, the 2nd floor has two bedrooms one other roommate was out here the other went home for the weekend.

According to my one roommate on the 2nd floor he heard shit going on downstairs around 7am thinking it was me and my best friend leaving for work, I got up at 7:45 checked the weather my best friend got up soon after went downstairs to make coffee and sees the front door open cat5 cables going out the door and our desktop computers gone (we keep them down there for gaming, plus mine stays so I don't sit in front of a tv when I study). Our car keys were stolen along with my iPod, and his phone.

I lost 2 years of photography, projects, notes, 24gigs of music and the worst part about the music my cds were stolen a year ago. But atleast I have my camera and laptop, plus I have home owners insurance thru my parents. This just isn't something I want to deal with at the end of the semester. I'm sure the stress will only greatly improve my grades for finals.... ::insert huge amounts of sarcasm here::

My house got borken into when I lived outisde of philly when I was younger, but insurance paid for almost everything taken. Would that work in your case? Or prob no because of not owning the property?

The monitary value of the objects lost doesn't bother me as much as having people break into my house, the cops not giving two shits and me losing a lot of stuff I've worked on over the years. My old backup cd's and DVD's are shot from age, my burner has been busted for months. And I've just been protecting myself against viruses and losing my data that way, not my computer getting jacked from my fucking apartment. Sorry I'm not mad at you I'm just pissed that shit like this happens to people who don't deserve it.
