IF the engine is running fine with no problems....you could just keep it in there, not have any problems. You could also try to find a Del Sol Vtec and get the engine out of that.

Whats wrong with an automatic again? Besides the milage and lack of control I love my auto. I live in a area where traffic is an everyday thing and being in that auto is very relaxing. If I had the money I'd put something more powerfull in it too.

kyle10182
10-15-2007, 05:57 PM
not more then mine....

my CRX weighs like 150 pounds less then the del sol.

where do u get your numbers from? who told u that a CRX weighs 1800 lbs? the del sol had a dash, front seats all that. it was a complete car.

Oh the lovely auto to manual swap that no one really knows much about until they do one. Little does anyone know that you will have to buy a conversion mount or take the engine bracket off of the frame and put it on there. I figured the easier route was to buya $130 solid AVID mount off of ebay and save myself time and trouble and I own all the tools to bust welds off quick and I have my own welder. Changing the pedals is a mega bitch, and if you have no wiring skill whatsoever, then just drive the del mexico as an automatic and get over it if you don't know how to swap it over, and don't have any money. I am in the process of putting a gsr in my 4 door dd. I know that the engine brackets b/c I can look at my hatch and then walk a couple of feet to my 4 door and see that the auto car has its bracket raised up to clear the tranny.

I think the real parts list for an auto to manual swap is more like this(maybe a little different b/c of my gsr swap):
5 speed brake pedal
clutch pedal assembly
clutch master clylinder
clutch hard lines/soft line
clutch slave cylinder
tranny with all the fixings
flywheel and clutch
**important** Conversion mount for 5 speed, the 5 speed mount won't reach the upper auto trans bracket
shift linkage
shift boot
small amounts of wiring***important-or just leave the electronic part of your manual shift assembly in park when you take it out, take it off the assembly, leave it plugged up, and put it somewhere under your dash so you can take your key out at any time, you can't take it out if your car thinks it is not in park!!!
some small stuff like the clutch interface plug off a 5 speed car so that when wired up, the car will only start when the clutch is pressed in, or just don't wire one and it will start any time.
The damn beating and banging/cutting to get the shift linkage bolted up where there is a massive hole in the floor that I would suggest filling up with something. and several small things are involved so it is never as easy as just putting the 5 speed stuff in an auto car.

ls swap? wats a ls swap... im sort of new to this honda engine stuff..

Ls swap is a b18b1 most commonly reffered to as an Ls motor b/c they came with them, so did Rs integras but Ls is what sticks for some reason. A GSR swap is different also, b/c it is a b18c1 and is a b18 also, but is a vtec motor. I would suggest that before you go off the deep end that you do all the necessary reading and research b/c it is not as easy as changing a motor out sometimes.
