Anyone else here notice that???
It happens a lot. I see a hatch driver and the guy has his left hand on the steering wheel lookign straight and looks cocky. Every now and then one will say wassup to me or give me a thumbs up. But most will act as if they dont see me.
Guys in coupes give me thumbs up, but hatches on the other hand, are too cool for this.
Anyone else notice this? I talked to a few people and they say yeah its true. EF/EG/EK hatch drivers are cocky as hell!!!!! Dude its still a Civic!

No not that... They see other "modified" hondas but act as if they dont. My car is no where NEAR the quality of some of the cars here. But it is OBVIOUSLY modified.

i drive a hatch and im not cocky? i just dont give a fuck bout other ppls civics. what i do is for me. i dont care if ppl like it or not. and i could care less to pay attention to someone elses car driving down the road when im supposed to be paying attention to the road.
Yeah like the last guy said, it shouldn't be about anyone else's thoughts but yours. Unless you bought your car based on what reaction you thought you'd get. I'd never lay down money on a ride based on hopes for someone randomly saying "Hey, I've seen 3,000 Civics today, and I just felt like giving yours an upward thumb." I bought my EJ2 because I've wanted a 5th gen Civic for a very long time, regardless of the engine, etc. Either way, its gonna be the shit (to me), because I finally own it and have the opportunity to built myself a killer Civic. If you love your ride, fuck em, put your left hand on the wheel and look straight.
Edit: BTW, no I don't own a hatch.

the only time i would give someone a thumbsup if they had something unique.. exxotics, rare cars.. but mainly i give a thumbsup to those hardcore dudes with baddass choppers.. and there arent many at all out here.

to the OP: I've noticed it too. Only seems to be 5th gen hatch drivers though. No, not all of them are that way, but I do notice a larger amount of douschebaggery from those drivers. They're also the ones who always do the ricer fly by or try to get me to race them.

Thumb ups go to clean classics, highly modified classics and exotics (well, they usually just get wide-eyed stare). I can't remember ever having given one to a Honda.
Cocky drivers more often have age in common, not car body style.

Oh, I remember that. I tried to tell him once that an hatchback version of an Si would be an SiR aka VTi (EK4), which are sold overseas, but he didn't seem to get it and kept telling me his car was an "Si in hatchback trim".

I drive a hatch, and i wear my hat forwards thank you. i drive with my left hand on the wheel and my right on the shifter, and stare straight ahead, but when i see another modified civic, i'll give them credit if i like it. i will have to say in my area, there are some cocky drivers, but around here it's mostly evo's and sti's.
if you're ever in the NW, i'll give you a thumbs up if it'll make you happy.:lol:

It feels good though when someone appreciates your car. As far me giving thums up, it has to be a fucking SICK car and usually is not a civic.

anyways, i don't know why your wanting a thumbs up anyways? in the civic community, we're a younger generation, well i'm 21, and most civic drivers that are modded are going to be somewhere around that age, give or take a couple of years. it's not like a bunch of hot rodders that have been doing their things for years. those people are older, and have more of a respect for eachother, not saying us civic people don't have respect for one another, but in society, we're seen as a bunch of kids that don't have respect for anyone, even eachother. don't take it personal if you don't get a thumbs up from a fellow civic driver.
every type of car is going to have certain people that are cocky, theres more with civics since theres that many more civics out there.

DX which has a cracked bumper and got a rev from a CRX with shitty grey doors, not even doors that were pulled cause they were straight, like just a shitty door, and the exhaust cracked as he did it, i just laughed and said nice doors. if it aint fast or doesn't sound good, don't rev at someone.

theres always going to be cocky drivers, it does not matter what kind of car it is. i got a lot of thumbs ups when i had my em1 and a lot of ricers revving at me. its best to stay on the DL, if you show your car off a lot, it will get stolen a lot quicker.

I usually wave at other hatches because it's what I drive and I know they admire their car. I give a smile and a thumbs up when I see another white hatch running around. The other driver seems to get pretty happy too lol.

Don't feel dumb, it's cool :thumbs up I used to like cruising around in my friend's jeep. Every jeep we passed, including cherokee's would give the wave. It's a good bond to have and you can be black, brown or yellow, you still get a friendly wave.
Just leave it to some of these fucking faggot ass honda drivers that have to take something so small and friendly and make it a big annoying problem.

Yeah true, mostly 5th geners... Some 4ths are pretty coo. Lots of 6ths are assholes too, but its mostly the EG's lol.

I have a Civic DX. I ams slowly gathering Si parts and installing them onto my vehicle. When I am finished, I will label it an Si and call it a day. I didnt know it was so hard to understand. I know itll still be a DX and forever be a DX, but ill have enough parts to back up my shit.
Funny how you guys dont give people who make Type R replicas shit, but as soon as I mentioned an Si replica, you guys got all crazy.

I was telling my lady the other day I wanted to buy a jeep. My friend's jeep/s never broke down but he was forever doing little mods here and there. I'll never forget the time he told me to get ready because we were going to go meet some bitches. He then picked me up and took me 2 tracking through the mud. The fucking water came up to my seat! Turned out that there was never any bitches, he just wanted me to ruin some clothes. :oops: Shit, I had fun tho and my clothes were the last thing on his mind. That hapend to be with his "fiber glass tub" jeep :what: it had a snorkle kit but he had another newr jeep that was pretty baddass too.

As a side note, EK is not a term that explains what you're always talking about. Lots of people call all '96-'00 Civics EKs and others use it to only refer to hatches.

In person it's a bit easier. If Eran and I came out of the grocery store and some kids asked, "Hey, is that your EK?" I would assume they mean the hatch, not my coupe.
A lot of people making intro threads say, "this is my EK" and they mean any 6th gen Civic. Sometimes they'll say "EK coupe".
