When you disconnected your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor), did you just undo the plug, or did you remove the VSS from the transmission housing?

If you just did the plug, then I would suspect that some debris is now in the VSS plug end.

X2 get a can of air or use a compressor and blow the male and female plug out.

try some carb cleaner on the sensor, let it dry, reinstall. always works for me.

If your going to spray any liquid in there, use the electrical cleaner.
The carb cleaner will dry out any rubber seals and is hell on plastic.
