Your connection must be dinosauric ... I started after you and finished about half an hour ago. I was just making breakfast, so no install yet.

Looks like I'll be doing VMWare if Windows installs that easily with VMWare.

I quit it on accident, and paused it for about 20 minutes while I downloaded something else. I'm only getting around 360KB/s
Yeah, I was getting like 700K plus ... which is odd. I don't even get mega-seeded torrents that fast.

It shows I'm only getting 330KB/s with 4 connections. I really need to get FIOS.
Installing right now. I <3 VMWare easy setup.

Wow, I will say this about it -- It's fast.
Like ... OS X fast.
Doesn't look too bad, but I wish they'd migrate away from the "Vista" feel. It seems to have some nice features, and I really like the control panel layout (tasks instead of programs). The start menu is a nice touch too.

i still dont know how they got 7 out of all this
windows:
1.0
2.0
3.0
3.11
NT 3.1
95
NT 4.0
98
98 SE
2000
ME
XP
Vista
I guess windows 13 would show how much they got wrong actually... lolz
oh, btw, i am a windows user.
Acutally, XP and Vista ... and progressively 7 are based on the NT platform, not the 9x.
So this is the SEVENTH incarnation of Windows NT.
wannabe
01-10-2009, 06:55 PM
they should change the name then
Windows NT 7.0
That's not cutting edge enough.
Matt.
01-10-2009, 06:57 PM
where can I get in on this open beta?
Matt.

Oh wow. Classy. Force your way into a subject you know NOTHING about, call us software pirates ... and then when you're proven wrong, counter with calling us nerds for being educated on the subject.
Get the hell out, you fucking luddite.

Just b/c I didnt realize that the new windows was a free beta, dosent mean I dont know anything about windows. I know alot more than over 1/2 of the members here on CC. Im sorry I cant devote my life to the internet and computers like you can. I actually have a life. And I never actually called you a software pirates. But hey, if the shoe fits, wear it. :what:

claiming to be so smart, yet proving to be so dumb
Once again, you stereotype everyone who knows more than you as being obsessive and having no life. :what:
Do I have a job in computer sciences? Do I write webpages or administrate any sort of forum or website? No. I work 40 hours a week in auto parts, I spend time with my girlfriend, I read, I cook, and I work on my car.
Computers are about the bottom of my totem pole in life -- but I still know more than you.
So if I devote my life to computers and the internet, then you live in a cave.

You can dual boot.
Honestly, just create a partition JUST for Windows 7, that way if you do want to format it, you'll only lose Windows 7 and not all your other important things.
