ok so i have a 98 ex.
and i really cant decide where to start on my car. and i dont wanna jump around.
its basically stock besides rims.
i wanna full suspenion set up and i am gonna either turbo or procharge it.

where do i start?
i was thinkin basic bolt ons then suspenion. and how can i raise my rev limit? i heard gsr's redline at 8900.

i would suggest go with suspension first then the motor but that's just me, and for redlining to 8900 rpm is a no no lol

if ur going swap the engine dont bother with bolt ons, get good suspension set up, nice rims and then move from there

Me personaly, I would start with really good handling, then move to motor. This way, when you do get some motor work done, youll be feeling all sexy like when you have some awesome handling to control it! And again, thats just me, this is your ride. Go with your gut.

i agree on the fact that suspention and brakes are crucial! I had an 98 ex for a bit and loved it. i hand built the engine and threw like 23 psi at it! effin quick. The prob was stopping and handling at like 129mph! if your car has the power thats good, if your car has the power and no balance(suspention, brakes) thats really bad. Mess up once and kiss your ride goodbye!

I think the OP WANTS to put something on so its' different.... If that's the case op, (untill you really do some homework) buy yourself a cheap eBay cold air intake (1 piece is my preference) and put on a K&N filter and that's it. It should cost you about $30 for the intake then w/e you wanna spend on a filter (or keep the one that comes with it, but they suck). If suspension is your route, it cant be wrong. Its a great choice but also you want something good, and good isn't cheap! Do mad homework and dont spend a penny untill you know 100% what you're buying, why you buying it, what's it gonna do, how hard is it to install, etc.... Oh, one of the 1st things you should get (actually you can get it now, today) is a Haynes manual, Honda service manual, or equivalent book on your engine/chassis set up.

a procharger is a self contained supercharger. It looks like a turbo and uses a intercooler and everything which allows it to run more boost than a standard supercharger. But it's still just a supercharger just one that is claimed to out perform the standard ones. Kinda interesting lil thing when i ran against a tc at the strip that had one.

o and suspension 1st

thanks alot guys. i really appreciate it. when i get coilovers i dont wanna spend more than 700-1000. any good products for everyday driving and racing.
as for the cold air intake i have work at a machine shop so i might just end up making my own.

is it worth changing the head if im planning on procharging it? i also plan on doin most if not all the internals.
and as for exhaust what is a good brand thats not to loud i hate loud i kinda wanna make it a sleeper.

i was also lookin online at maifolds fuel rails etc fuel delivery. when should i upgrade such things. ie bigger fuel injectors and such.

thanks again guys

Well make sure your research what you want first. That way you will get exactly what you want. Also check out Ebay, you can get some amazing deals on there. I picked up a set of brand new, never used Eibach Sportline springs for $100. Retails for $190-200+. Thats the kind of stuff you can find on it, but you have to be patient. As far as coilovers, I've heard very good things about Koni Ground Control coilovers with thier yellow struts. But thats about $600 new. Or go with some non-adjustable shocks (Tokico HPs, KYBs, Koni STR.Ts, etc) with some nice springs. That will be cheaper. Or look for a set of coilover sleeves, Megan racings sells a set for $100. But quality wise, idk. Never heard about people using them. But upgrade the suspension first, cause zipping through the turns is so much fun when you got new shocks and springs.

And once more I agree, and I heard that TEIN were really awesome, they even debuted in Honda Tuning! So you may wanna run through some info first, its always a good idea. And if your up for it, I would definitley buy coilovers, the ability to adjust will always come in handy. Keep your head up!=)

i made a custom short ram this weekend and it works great and the throttle response is defiantly noticeable. and it gives the car a great sound. oh and a new radio and speakers(both pioneer) :P

how can i help with slo low end like between 1-3000 rpm my car is slo as shit but once it gets past 3000rpm it goes. i hate having a auto and i cant wait til winter to swap it.

Well I may be wrong but from my experience, you may want to adjust the idle, it may help you out there.
