Coqui's EK Hatch 600+/JDM Build!!

*Note* I have my build on another forum so im just going to copy and paste what i have so far im not going to put it all on one day but here ya go enjoy *Note*

My goal with this car is is to go 10sec on the track or go over 600+hp and at the end have it looking jdm.

First i'd like to tell you people how i got into the racing scene. My very first car was a 2000 ek coupe 5spd and boosted. At the time i didnt know anything about cars i just got it because it looked clean and simple i was the type of kid that would go to school and if i heard you talk about cars i'd walk away and chill with other people lol. (Now i love cars lol ) Anyways I learned to drive stick on a boosted car fun and scary at the same time lol. The car was boosting at 5lbs crazy to say at the time the car seemed really fast. My dad presented me to a shop CFT (Central Florida Turbo) thats where i got my car tuned after i got it tuned i took it to the shop, ran 15's flat and before i traded her fastest time it ran was 13.8. Ever since that day i've been addicted to the track and took me on to this build. This is how the car looked like before i traded it like a month ago (sadly to say i miss her alot had her for 2 years)

This is Everything i have for the motor so far. I been on this for about 2 years. Why so long? (1) Because i spent a good amount of money on my old coupe and not concentrating on my motor and (2) i wasn't sure of what parts to buy so i had CFT help me alot on it!

Okay so i decided to call one of the guys from CFT to help me out take out the air bag and some of the ac stuff underneath the dash and this is what we did for an hour or so cuz he had to get to his shop at 10.

Thanks alot and yes alot of money put into this and im not even half way done i cant wait lol. The head/block is being built right now hopefully i get it sometime this month. The headlights i sold them along time ago. As far as exhaust goes im not too sure yet what would you or anyone recommend? I was thinking the Apexi WS2 (Turbo Exhaust). If theirs another better than that lmk cuz i still havent decided.

The reason why i primered it is because i dont know when were going to weld it so before it decides to rust we decided to primer it. Im not to sure what i want to weld and not to weld cuz this car is going to be more towards track then show. We'll see what happens :D

Yeah it stays inside but everyone was telling me to primer it cuz i dont know when im going to paint the engine bay and it could rust. So we just primered it and the guy helping me out used to work at a body shop so i just went with what he knows. I guess its just to be on the safe side.

Yeah i aint really trying to cheap out on my build trying to get it done right this one time around i wish their was more people like this also but it takes alot of money it all really comes down to having patience and saving up money for what u want n how far u wanna get with ur car. Well i paid $940 for everything and i mean everything u can think of bored/honed/o-ring/mico-polish crank/ u know all that good stuff :cool:. Without the o-ring i believe it would've came out to be somewhere in the 600's

Thanks for the comment man. I never got to drive the hatch on the track the way i got it but i did race my coupe alot on the track and i always went to Orlando Speedworld to race. I cant wait to race my hatch on the track when its finish it going to be a new experience for me! Im going to be real nervous lol

ive heard mixed things about them lately... they were the shit a few years back.

I've been dealing with them ever since i got my coupe which was about 3-4 years ago and i still deal with them. Real cool people and their shop is like my 2nd house lol. Every Shop has its thing and none of them are perfect your always going to hear something bad/good about another shop.

very nice build. just read through the whole thing. x2 on being married limiting funds towards projects. after the mortgage and other bills, wife tries to take the rest of my money or gives me a guilt trip any time I spend money on my hatch. even though I told her I'd pay for anything she wants to upgrade on her car if she'd let me do whatever I want to my car. motor swap and drop later she's already starting to regret that deal lol.

Interesting build looks like a quality build even though I dont see the point of tower bars and other useless braces on a car with a goal of 600hp and hopes of a 10 sec pass. Seems to be money wasted that could move the build more in the finish stage then the JDM stage. But to each his own none the less I will keep an eye on this good build.
