ok i have a 95 ex with a b16 in it and the car will run fine when its warmer out but as soon as it gets cold outside the car just die's and it takes a couple of min's for it to start back up the only time it really happens is when i have to sit at a long red light or the car is just sittin for a min or to any help thanks guys

Have you tried cleaning the IACV and FITV on the throttle body?

Any CEL codes?

Possibly bad ignition coil when it heats up it cuts out then when it cools it starts back up.

its a new iacv because the car has a type r manifold on it and no cel

thats the crazy part because i think if it was that they it would be happenin all the time and it only does it when its cold as hell out never does it durin the day

Do you have an FITV on the throttle body?

yes i have that on the tb but i think i just skiped it when i put the manifold back on

This is likely the cause of your problem. The function of the FITV is to raise the idle speed until the engine is hot. Without the FITV, the engine will have a low idle, will tend to stall, and may be difficult to start when cold.

but the starts up fine fine it just does it has a problem startin back up after it stalls out n the car is normal hot when it does it because i have drove some where and just had to run in and out

Ok well its not the fitv because the car did it to me when it was nice as hell out and I could smell all of the fuel getin to the car so the only thing I can think of that its the coil in the dizzy or something with not getin any spark

my ignition coil just went on my car. but i couldnt start it again once it went. id check your dizzy cap, rotor and ignition coil

WHEN THE ENGINE WON"T START, have you listened for the fuel pump and checked for spark at the plugs?

Does the CEL work?

motor was hot

can here the fuel pump kick on n off when the key is turned

and yes it does have seen it on before

Was this done when the engine would not start? What about spark?

yea when wont start up and spark i put my friends on 2 day to see it it keeps it up n if not than ill know where im at and im goin to be taking apart the dizzy to see whats goin on in there

When the engine won't start, use this method (http://www.hondacivicforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74362) to check for spark at each of the plugs. You may find that the igniter unit is bad.

ok i will diff try that cuz the only other thing that i could really think of being wrong would be the plug wires because the plugs just went it the car

ok i checked the dizzy out n looked like the rotor was backin off a lil bit but now it just happen again so i think that it is the igniter goin bad cuz the car was runnin for bout an hour when it did it to me

It's probably your ignition coil. That's what happened to mine. It just stopped running. Sunday since I changed out m ignition coil I'm putting in a new rotor and cap and wires.

it has a new cap n rotor on it thats like 2 months old n i need to change the wires n how much is a coil ?

No. first i changed the ignition coil and when i did that i noticed that my cap and rotor were shot. so within the next few days i had the cap and rotor replaced and my car runs perfect. half a crank of the key and my honda is running. i have 140k on it to and it runs like a dream...slow of course lol

well i have a brand new car n rotor on it so i no its not that cuz the car was just runnin n stoped again which it hasnt done in like a month n now it just wont start up at all no matter what just makes a load sound from the intake
