ok so i just traded my dirtbike for a prelude with an h23 the body of the prelude is trashed so ima prob just pull engine and stuff and stick it in my 92 civic i was looking at getting an h22 head on it herd its alot more powerful also heard that theyre not really reliable so if some one could help me out here what would be better stock h23 or doin the h22 conversion the car will mostly be a dd so i prob wont rev up to 6k unless i need it i heard thats where most of the hybrids have the problems so yeah what would be the best way to make one reliable and how much money would i need to put into it

Here is what I see wrong with this.... Your saying it is going to be a DD and your not going to rev it to 6g... Which makes no sense.... Why would you drop a motor like an H into your car if your not going to drive it? Just leave your 92 alone, fix the body on the lude or just sell it... Thats just me... Or if you do swap it, why bother with H22 head if your not going to use it, I mean an H22 head will allow the higher rev and Vtec doesn't kick in until what like 4500? So what is the point of having an engine capable of high rev's that gets its power after the high rev, then not use it?
I dunno, just makes no sense if you ask me...
Good Luck....
::::EDIT::::: Pics help to...

Im by no means an H series know it all... Just don't see a point in swapping a motor you either A don't know about or B don't plan to use it...
So I personally say RESEARCH... If I want to know about something, I search like a MO fo, Ill watch youtube, Ill watch any video's... Ill read threads, Ill read books whatever until I figure it out.... I am still learning and got a LOT to learn, but if I am going to swap I already know what the main things are... So Search google and see what you can find...

If your gonna drop in that H into your civic, don't just think about the swap think about how your gonna offset the weight of that heavy ass H in your civic

We've already heard a shit load of 'mods' from this guy, so I doubt this one is gonna happen either :P

:roll::roll:
Its 40lbs heavier than a B, we have gone over this a thousand times... It doesn't do shit to the car... Stock suspension is fine for it....

bro honestly, do you have any clue exactly wtf you're doing? I'm not trying to thrash your thread, but this seems like wayyyyyyy too much for you to do on your own. Nothing's impossible, but the H swap isn't as easy as a B series swap. I've never done one myself, but i've heard this numerous times. Oh, and how many miles are on the engine?

WOW that Civic is a pile! PLease sell your civic parts that are useable and crush the poor thing, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put it out of its missory!
That lude you said is in rough shape? I would drive that lude the way it is....
I don't think the civic is fixable... The lude at least just needs body work....
But its your car not mine...

Dude that wing is the biggest POS I have ever seen, ditch the wing fast before you get made fun of even more! I always point and laugh at cars with wings of that style.... It will help a Little

If you would take off those headlights,tailights and that gigantic ass useless pos aluminum wing it would look better not great but better. WTF happened to the dash?

02-08-2010, 09:06 PM
lol the ricey parts look like they're worth more than the car itself (trust me, it's not worth much)...
Before you concentrate on building the motor or doing mods or whatnots, why not try providing yourself a nicer ride? Doesn't have to be a new one if you don't want, but before asking about cheap mods for this and that, I'd throw that money into fixing all the little shit (dash, panels, rust spots, paint, interior, etc) before i worry about performance mods. What's the point of having an ugly pos shell with a massive motor in it, if you're not gonna get any respect at all simply because of how it looks? I don't think it'd matter if you had a j-swap in there, I personally wouldn't give you much respect rollin around in that car because it looks ridiculous. Just my thoughts, but hey, it's YOUR car. Do as you please.
Aaron.

Both cars are better off being scrapped bro.Your either going to have to rebuild either car and that will take a lot of money, or you could find a better base to start with and then go from there.

I AGREE 100%... Unless you know Auto Body I would scrap them and start over... Sell what parts you can, keep the H Swap and pick up a shell....

Then if I were you, I'd focus my budget on making the car look decent, rather than building a motor. Either way, it seems like you're not trying to put much money into it, but you expect to build a ridiculous motor and be respected for it........just my opinion

For as much as you're going to have to spend to get either one of those looking decent, you may as well buy a clean shell. Then on with your plans...
