hey everyone,

just wanted to introduce myself to everyone, sorry if i posted in the wrong forum topic...

anyways, my names Pete, live in kitchener, ON at the moment
proud owner of a 99 civic CX hatchback, red with tint (no mods.. YET!)
found the site just browsing google for how to's and knew i needed to join my fellow civic lovers
this is my second civic, previously owned a 97 CX hatch
at the moment i dont have a job so im looking for some cheap good looking mods, some in mind include...
black tail lights, black headlights (the back part, instead of chromed)
LED accent lighting (license plates, interior roof light)
MAYBE fast blinkers.. the cheap way haha

for now thats about it! if you have any suggestions for some DIY cheap mods, feel free to let me know, love to keep my civic looking sharp!

and one final question, any fellow forum-ers in kitchener or area?

thanks!
-Pete.. and yes i AM only 17.. 18 in less that 2 weeks

Welcome! id suggest gettin a crv cluster instead of si. better looking imo. oh and repaint the steelies gloss black with a red pinstripe on the edge. thatll look real good and if you drop it itll look sick.

ahh, steels are just for winter, have had no time to switch to my summers, which are corrado rims (lol) painted black and about 1-2 inches larger, i think they look nice as a temporary fix. eventually ill get around to finding some rims...
and do you have any pics of a CRV cluster? i was kinda leaning towards SI for the SI badge haha :P
plus, how hards the switch from cluster to cluster (manual to manual cars)

also, i dont really want to lower it becuase the roads here are terrrrrrrrible for lowered rides and the curbs are huge :/ i was thinking of just putting on larger tires to make it look lowered

civicSIcoupe
03-11-2010, 06:09 PM
man the roads arent that bad here, i dropped my car a couple inches with no worries, im sitting about 5.5 inches off the ground and i clear everything. and please dont put larger tires on to make it look lower it will only make it look like a 4x4

Generation Six
03-11-2010, 09:03 PM
haha, well around conestoga area is sketch... :/
lol and i was only talking like 1 - 1.5 inches larger tires, like my corrado rims are 15 inches i think

oh and, im totally putting on the fast blinkers.. haha dont hate on my please :)
upon searching the threads, which way is best for fast blinkers...
black wire unscrew??
OR
LED Bulb?
also for the wire, do you cut it in the front AND back?
and for the LED do i need to put LED's in the front AND back?

Hey civicSIcoupe or anyone on here in Ontario, are fast blinkers (using the LED Technique) illegal???

Generation Six

So i did my first mod today... upon reading through how-to's i came across the red shifter... so i made my shifter numbers and letter all red! looks sweet :)
next up im hoping to swap out my license plate lights for LED's.. just dont know what color to use?

Hey civicSIcoupe or anyone on here in Ontario, are fast blinkers (using the LED Technique) illegal???

you may get pulled over for having them but im not sure. also you need to have white license plate lights or else its illegal

What happened?

x2 crash it?

Generation Six
03-14-2010, 05:19 PM
nah, i was driving down the highway, and i pull off and all of the sudden it just gets extremely loud, so i pull into my house (luckily i was driving home) and i pull up onto the driveway, jack up the car and bam, my muffler falls off...
cracked and broke off from the exhaust

civicSIcoupe
03-14-2010, 06:52 PM
oh lol. so what are you planning on replacing it with?

Generation Six
03-14-2010, 08:54 PM
truthfully, i was thinking about it today, and i think ill keep this one stock for a bit, i need to save up my cash, so im gonna go visit my people in our local junk yards. sadly, its gonna be a few days till its back on the road :(

R3dline
03-14-2010, 08:58 PM

cops around here are definitely hardasses about that for sure. check out hanks auto wreckers, cambridge auto wreckers, and a&a auto wreckers (i believe its called that; the one you can see of the highway near bluevale and the aud.)

Generation Six
03-18-2010, 11:00 PM
yea, im slowly gonna start frequenting those and ones in cambridge too for some nice mods... maybe score a jackpot and find a hatch that has mods on it! would be amazing

DIY headlights are easy, i did my set of 96-98, then completely shattered the driver side in a accident. liked it, so i did a set of 99-00 headlights for my 99-00 front end conversion. just costs the cost of paint and silcone sealant ;) i do it bc idl the oem chrome headlights

secondly, clusters are easy to change too, 2 screws on the top of the gauge bezel, then 4 screws hold in the cluster @ ea. corner, take those out, then there are 4 wire plugs on the back, detatch them, tilt the wheel to manuver the cluster out and walaa: an empty space for an Si cluster ;)

Please don't. This is when my car was barely a virgin. Larger tires look terrible and make cornering harder as well.
