any shop in pa will charge you crazy if it isn't a tuner shop. Even then it will be around 500 to 1000 for the engine install, but they will charge you more for the engine itself then if you were to buy it yourself and install it yourself. Its really not that hard to do yourself, if you have a cherry picker and everything goes well. Maybe you can get a few buddies to help for a case of beer.

I agree. Download the free 92-95 Civic service manual (click link in my signature) and follow the instructions in the engine removal and installation sections.

Yeah, get the tools and stuff and do the swap yourself. There are enough How-To's on swaps (if you're going from D to B or something). Even the dreaded K-Series Swap has easy to follow swap manuals, even with wiring. Just make sure you go over the engine and inspect everything before you do the install. Also, engine swaps are like art, no 2 paintings are exactly the same and there are multiple ways to paint a picture. So if you run into any problems after the swap, you'll have a better idea of where the problem may have started. Also, if you're sticking with the engine same engine and just replacing a bad one, then the hardest part should be remembering where things went if you forgot to label it.
