82 fox body mustang coupe mini stock dirt track car

Ok guys and girls. If you dont know anything about dirt track racing then you dont know wat this is so ill trll you a little about it. It called a mini stock, poney car, pure poney, or moded poney. So what that mean is its you 4cyl mustang your toyota celicas ect. This the store how it became a poney car. Frist i bought a 1982 fox body mustang to turn into a street/strip car. I had it for going on 2 and half years. I quit my job and money started geting tight. Our local dirt track stopped this class 5 years ago and made whats called hot shots which are your front wheel drive cars. (yes Ive seen civics out there). this racing season they desaide to get ride of the hot shots and bring the poney cars back. Me and few buddys got wind of this and started look for a mustang. We looked and looked. It got right down to x-mas so I sould my mustang for 300 and a EJ1 parts car. I got the parts car but never got the 300. So i repoed the half that was owed. So me and the other buddy started guting the mustang. For some reason my buddy quit comeing around helping on so I just took over the hole thing. So i took to another buddys shop and started building the roll cage

ok that took me right at a mounth to builed the roll cage that was working for 3 or 4 hrs a day and not working on the weekend. I just picked up a ford 2.3L 4cly motor for 150 bucks. you honda boys thanks your lil b18 all motors are fast yall have seen nothing yet.


MOTOR:
2.3 going to be bored to hould chevy 5.7 rods and pistions YES those are v8 rods and pistions in a 4 banger
HEAD WORK
racing valve job
bigger vavles
bigger cam not none yet
and a holly 500cc carb
thats all I can think of right now......the cage is complete and its being painted floresent (i guess thats how you spell it) red
and the body will be carbon black met...more to comeing soon.......
If someone would resize the pic for me or pm and tell me how to that would be great. I thought they were bigger

By the way... you did that roll cage by yourself? What did you use? Looks really well done.

MORE PICS TO COME LATER ON TODAY as it warms up..........yes I done the cage myself. I used 3 and half maybe 4 sticks of 30feet round tubing which was 11/4 inch round and.83 thick yes almost half an inch thick. I used exhaust bender to do the bends and mig welder (i wanted to tig it but i dont know anyone with a tig welder) and a domore cuting wheel to notch the tubing.(thats a must) I also put gussets on the Apiller bars and the halo bar(to make it lil bit stronger) The gussets will be seen on the new pics.. As for today and this weekend Im going to try and finish the painting of the cage and pull the motor apart to get it read for the machine shop. "I KNOW I KNOW" it was a factor v8 car with 9inch rear end and Im going to use it. Ill be racing on a 1/3mile high banked clay oval. Yes that means put it in 2nd gear and let her eat. RPM will be turn in the 8000s range.(she will be screaming) LOL like i said befor you guys think yalls b18s h22s and k20 k24 all motors are fast yall havent seen nothing yet.


SUSPENSION
AFCO racing shocks and springs to help me turn that bitch on dirt.
the rules says I can do anything that i want to with the motor and suspension.
So it bring what you got and hope it enough
