That's a lot of old cars .

It fascinates me how some people go through cars like water. I've had one and only one car since I started driving 8 years ago.

Why did you part out that si hatch?!

Yea, it is.
It was the late 90's when I got into Hondas'. Though the modified ones are what attracted me initially to them, I wasn't a rice/JDM fan boi.
I approached them as an auto enthusiasts who enjoyed the lines of the cars, became loyal to the brand and wanted to learn more about them as they were well built and reliable all around vehicles. Plus it's hard to have a car to work on and commute with at the same time. These are all spaced out from '97 until present.
Also working where I work, the road I use has heavy truck traffic hauling road salt, so having a really nice "winter beater" didn't make much sense as the salt and muck of the winter would totally beat it up.

Why did you part out that si hatch?!
It was a quick flip.
Purchased from an estate auction for $400, it had no title and it was apparent it had been sitting for awhile. The underside was not good and the rockers were rotting.
Interior was MINT, motor ran like a top and trans shifted smooth.

No, no JDM'ed out, Hondafanboy, nutswinging, show cars with crazy boost or swaps.
I had fun with them and learned a lot from them as well.

Like I mentioned before, I always approached them as an enthusiasts and appreciated them for what they are, economy cars with some of them being fun to drive.
Again, working where I work, it still makes 0 sense to have a nice daily driver, between the winter conditions and salt slurry on the roadway, it can start to really eat a car up in one season.

Meaning I am more of a OEM+/stock enthusiasts.
I enjoy them for what they were, a well rounded, reliable and not hacked up projects that I can enjoy, but am not willing to dump shit tons of money into what in reality are economy cars.

That is a LOT of cars. I've had 5 in 10 years, and I thought that was a lot lol.

I can completely understand that now. I've just recently (after getting a loan together to purchase a BMW) realized that it doesn't make much sense to hot rod an economy car. When I was younger, it was fun. Now it's just painfully expensive, and the fun of tuning is no longer fun for me...

That's a lot of cars.

This is since '97, so 15yr span.
I've always thought it a good idea to have a reliable daily driver if you're going to have another car to toy around with. Plus, NYS winters are hell on vehicles with the amount of road salt that is spread, so for me, it made sense to have a reliable winter car.

so for me, it made sense to have 27 reliable winter cars.

Fixed that for ya ;)

OUch!

Well there are a few of those cars I wouldn't drive to work, when the road you drive is covered in road salt and muck from the trucks hauling the salt off site.

I've had fun with every single one of them and learned a lot from them too, lots of 1st hand knowledge gained.
