I think its from the ek 96-98 climate control with navi in it. Its almost impossible to wire it up, and prob doesnt even work out here
Oh yeah, this is where I saw it (http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=15827&highlight=type+navigation). (Pics are now down though.) It's a Type R center with navigation system.

i think its from a optional honda equipment in japan. i also think its for the 96-98. i hard that honda of japan usually puts them on the ferio as a option. i run into it sometimes on ebay from $300-500.

You would think they offer that option here at the dealer. Never in a million years. :x

please...although as fancy as it may be, i think civic's are not that "luxuarious" to have navigation. how about they put leather for seats for starters!!!
It would be kool to still be able to use the screen and remote for whatever purpose.

Not in Japan. In Japan, nav is pretty much a standard option (or an option almost everyone gets). Plus, they pretty much don't own anything tech'ish more than 3-5 years, including cars. Although, economics are starting to change this.

he meant that all the programing for the nav system and it's interface will be in japanese... not that it would be hard to install with japanese instructions

just because a stock civic isnt luxurious doesnt mean that some people dont want theirs to be.... i mean cummon, civics arent fast either but you dont see that stopping anybody on this site from spending godly amounts of money on their performance

it all depends what company is used for the satalite. If they are not a usa company too then the navi system will not work. but i think you guys are missing the potential of this. its a console that can easily fit into civics that allow a screen... can we say easy dvd install? I would hook up the new apexi speed rev/meter to the screen and have a big screen diagnostic (maybe even build a slide cover for it.). Who needs a navi when u can do so much more =)

that thing is awesome. if i had the cash i'd go for it. but i'd prolly end up using the screen for dvd's or something.. i don't really need a navi system

i would do it but i'll have to mold it in to my new dash that i'm fiberglassing right now. so it would be a pain in the ass

That's what I was talking about. I like things to look like they belong in a car, so this screen and remote would be great I think. Just have to hook it up for DVDs instead.

Yea I could have bought one off of ebay but it was impossible to hook up to the car they said and even if you could you could only use europe cd? somethjing like that.

786Mine, u should also realize that the 99-00 Si's came with an option for leather seats, as well as the GS-R's.
