I noticed we're getting TONS of new ppl by the day and there are a lot of "Hi, i'm new" threads being started. I was thinking, how about a sticky thread (maybe in off-topic?) just for them to intro themselves, talk about their car etc, instead of having a whole bunch a day. Then we could all reply to that one thread instead of 1000000!! I dunno, just an idea. ;) I think i saw that on anther site and thought it was smart. Thoughts? Comments?

There's already like 10,000 stickies up in the off-topic area though. Too many and it just clutters it up.

i agree.. but would the n00bs find it.. or would we just have a n00b forum with a couple posts, and still have 9,996 "hi" posts in the lounge...

some of our n00bs are not too smart.... some of them don't even know which cars are theirs, and which cars belong to other people half way accross the country.

well if you put the "newb" forum right about the lounge, i think it should be relatively EASY to find... i would suggest giving it a try and see how it does for about a month, if not take it out..

can we also have a page that they automatically go to when they join, that gives a breif outline of the site, a large link to the newb forum, and most importantly, a clear post of the SEARCH button. im so tired of answering the same damn questions over and over again cus the n00bs wont search.

theres already a PM that gets sent to the new members, it gives them a brief summary of the site and a couple of links to get them started. but if admin goes through and adds a newb forum, then that link will be given to them as well.
