ya i knew that was a camaro before they even had shown it. only car i ever seen that has that. i myself dont think it is a good idea to put it back there. talk about some turbo lag.

yea, i guess its cool for the sleeper look, but ive heard that its not very good to have it so far away from the motor. and that the closer to the motor the turbo is, the better.

not true at all. BIgger turbo with long pipes>smaller turbo with short pipes. All you have to do is put a bigger turbo to cancel out the lag.

i cant see the video but i posted a car with a setup like this over a year or so ago.its the most rediculous thing if you ask me.

false.putting a bigger turbo is NOT going to cancel out the lag,get real.

ya tell me about it. i dont think this guy knows very much about it. come on man. a bigger turbo plus being farther back on the exhaut means horrible turbo lag.

your ignorance makes me laugh.lets go mr.turbo, explain how a bigger turbo and bigger piping would cut out on turbo lag in a rear mounted application?ill reply tomorrow.

"Since these systems are uniquely designed to function at the rear of the vehicle, it operates without any noticeable lag and will produce full boost below 3,000 rpm. This is because the intake-tubing volume is about the same size as most traditional turbos that are front-mounted with an intercooler. The system is a true bolt-on kit that can usually be installed in an afternoon. In an F-body, the intake tubing is routed under the car on the driver's side. The tubing's exposure to ambient air alongside the car also serves to cool the charge. Tests have shown that turbo outlet temps with 5-psi boost measured 175 degrees F (at the rear of the car) and dropped to 115 degrees F at the intake discharge up front. The pressure drop was 1/4 to 3/4 psi. The bottom line is that the intake tube acts as an intercooler, dropping the rear-mounted turbo temp (which is already lower than engine compartment installations) about 50 percent and with a very small drop in psi. "

"With the turbo so far back, don't you get a lot of turbo lag?
No, our turbochargers are sized to operate at this remote location. Just like any turbocharger, once the turbo is up to temperature and in the rpm range for which it was designed to operate. The boost comes on hard and fast. All of our systems will produce full boost below 3000 rpm.
If you were to take a conventional turbo and place it at the rear, you would have lots of lag and consequently, our turbo wouldn't work properly if mounted up front."

So please know something before you speak.

well honestly i still dont like the idea of a turbo being under a car. and ya for that kit maybe there will the same turbo lag but what about if you add a bigger turbo. im think there will be more lag than if it were up front.

FRODO

" are sized to operate at this remote location" most likely meaning they have a little bit bigger turbo to push more boost since there is a boost drop and to help provent heavy lag.
