I was crusing to work the other day and this dude in a b16 hatch pulls up from behind and revs the shit out of his car. It was a 5thgen, I look over thinking what a douche bag. I only knew it was a b-series swap because it didn't sound like a SOHC does, so i asked what he had. He had an Si swap header/exhaust, "racering radiator", and CAI. Me in my little 4 door that was looking like complete crap with a black front bumper and no side skirts and steelies on the front reved back but not enough to make the BOV go off. I just wanted him to think I was a regular ricer. We both got good launches and were pretty even though 1st but my 1st gear was much shorter than his. After He shifted into 2nd I began to take a small lead. As soon as I shifted into 3rd when my gears get longer and I can really build boost I gained proabbly 2 1/2 or so cars. Not bad for a d17a2 on stock injectors with an SF FMU on 6psi. This was the 1st hatch swapped hatch I beat on this setup, in fact the only one ive raced. But I have beaten an LS/Vtec frankenstein Interga with Header, Exhasut, CAI and a chip with this setup. It was about the same outcome.
Apprently a guy in an EVO XIII must have seen this, and pulled up next to me at the next light after the hatch gave a thumbs up and turned. Guys says that was a nice run wanna go against me? not those exact words but to that extent. I look over laugh and say yeah your gonan kill me. I ask him what he has, and downpipe/exhaust, boost controller, bigger injectors, BOV, and Dyno tunned with some kind of electronic tunning. Then I say why not I've lost before after turboing my civic but have yet to been against a car such out of my class. SO basically as soon as the light turns green he takes off, as any AWD should. And just kills me.
I just got my E-manage in this week, and have installed the PnP adapeter and boost sensor. As soon as I get my Greddy Cable I can load my map in I made and work off those and tune it with a wide band. I'll be boosting at 8 daily and be able to switch it over to 12-13 with my dual boost controller if I really wanna give somebody a run. Then im going to dyno tune it as soon as I know I can get my dyno time to about 2 hours, cause im broke.
