Is my 1995 (gen 5) actually a 1992 EG4?

Just found somethingm, looking at my VIN plate in the bay I noticed it says "EG4" - now I know it's an EG which is fine but it says 4 so does that mean it's gen4 not gen5?

DVLA vehicle check says it wa sfirst registered in 1995 and the license plate has not changed either (N registration which is 1995)

Just a bit confused that's all!

My civic is:

CIvic 1.5 LSi (SOHC, NOT a vtec version, DB15Z engine)
Electric windows
Electric sunroof
Drivers airbag
Power steering
Front disc brakes (vented type)
Remote central locking/alarm & sensors

Just wnated to know as I ordered a new front bumper which was for an EG model 92-95 IIRC but 95 EG it came off, just a bit worried I ordered the right one or not, the garage said it is the same turquise green colour (some here call it transvestite green hehe) an that it is defo an EG bumper.

yea, just for your info, eg4 does not mean gen4, its just your chassis code, like mines ej8, and theres lots of others, like eg6, ek9, ej7 the list goes on.

Heh thanks! just noticed there is a PDF posted in the sticky too which described how to check everything, another job to do tomorrow is asjust the hood latch alignment as I think it's off a bit when my old bumper got damaged :o - the bonnet locks but it doesn't fully lock so I think the latch needs raising a bit. not a prob though.

One final question too, would it be better to buy presprayed door mirrors (body colour) or simply spray them myself using a shop mixed colour using the BG28p code ?
