for the longest time my gsr would idle up and down in about one sec. intervals when at idle but drove fine when i gave it some gas. check all the sensors and nothing 3 months went buy and the delership didn't even know what was going on. finally i pulled the throttle body off to clean it one day and behold there was a rattle. the piece under the throttle body that the heaterhoeses goes to had a piece that unscrewed itself. 10 min. later and the idle prob. was gone.

its the only thing that is atached to the throttle body after you remove the 4 main bolts think its held on by 3 screws on the bottom of the throttle body. good luck

just remove the metal plate on the fast idle valve (two screws), dont even have to remove it from the intake (although it may make it easier to work on), tighten the plastic "nut" and put the metal plate back on...should be good to go!!
