ok so unfortunately on my left rear side where the plastic bumper piece connects to the metal panel iit has rusted out and the plastic thing that pushes into the metal panel won't hold anymore The whole connector that was there is rusted right out and now it flapps all around and shit when i drive... has this happened to anyone else? it seems that when it gets wet the moisture has been kinda sitting there. Unfortunately something needs to be done soon so how much would you think that would cost... im sure its happened to someone else so any estimates? or even a good fix that i could do to it? thanks for any help, sorry for not being very descriptive but hopefully you will get what i mean.
car is a 1995 dx coupe too.

If its not to bad just take it to a body shop, but if its bad enuff them buy some Ebay 1/4 panels and take it to a good body shop.. The reason why they rust so much is because of the so called weather strip, It holds to much water.. a fix so this dont happen next time would be Take the strip off both sides and the front.. other then that theres no eazy fix to rust.

The same thing happend to me, but I bet my case is alot worse than urs. Both of my rear panels are rusted badly. Im fixing it right now at home. Its hard work man! Im basically using fiberglass to fill in the rusted holes, then smoothing it out with bondo then paint it over.
The flapping bumper is very annoying. In terms of estimates, I wouldnt know...I live in Canada, rates vary.
If that's ur only problem and no further rust, which is unlikely. Shouldnt cost more than a few hundred.

The exact same thing happened to me, only on the right side......must be the CT weather. For me the plastic piece was gone but there was the small tab of metal still left that the plastic piece goes into. So I sanded down the rust and painted it and then used 2 washers to grab the remaining metal tab and the bumper...I used a black rubber washer in between as a spacer.
I was lucky the rust was not that bad and there was still some of the metal tab left. It would have been a lot harder to fix if that metal tab was completey gone. You may want to try that. It has held up for about 2 months now with no problems and looks fine. This is a common problem with 5th gens....it eventually leads to rusting of that whole panel.

welcome to the world of hondas.. your diagnosis cancer. if the tab is missing you can try to drill a hole and zip tie the bumper up into place. im fixing mine right now. its a pain in the ass cause mines pretty bad.
