Hi every one, and welcome to "THE PROJECT" this is the 92 DX model that I got that I will try to keep you guys posted, in every change. When I bought it, it was stock, a little bit dirty but after 1,2,3, step from Mcguairs products it came out super clean. The interior, Blue one with a funny smell that soon will be replace by the interior+trim from my 93 SI. Body I think is near mint and by mint I mean no rust with only one barelly noticeble little dent on the middle of the driver, rear 1/4 panel. Don't know why it has a red fender, a bad one too(Still looking for a white driver side fender), maybe it got stolen or maybe a little accident, but no signal of damage in front bumper, door or the chassis. Hood, a taiwan aftermarket one that It will be replace as soon as possible by a carbon fiber unit. My goal with this Project is to have a True street car capable of winning auto shows and also able to run 12's in the 1/4.

nice start, but thats the silly problem with dreams.. research is showing that they arent quite as realistic once we actually try to accomplish them.. but hang in there man.. it is definately a starting point.

LOL, those spare donuts come handy, thats why I put the 16" white rims right away. The white rims came with the red si that I got for $500. I will say that just for the rims it self I did pretty good with the $500 SI.

SUPPPPPPPP! I havent forgot about "Mi Projecto". Took the engine apart and away it went to the machine shop. Took some pictures of the engine and I will keep you guys posted on my project. Have almost alll the parts for my Turbo set up and my goal still the same. Nice street car that can win auto shows, but with the "Cojones" for doing 12's or faster on the 1/4 mile. Of course after the car is tune for that power. Also II will like to have at least 300hp to the wheel. Stay tune. Im just getting started!! and I want my baby finish and tune by spriing if not before. I will post pictures tomorow or over the weekend. keep it bumping guys, keep me motivated!!!

I will be doing the engine build up for turbo aplication also the suspention including brakes will be modified. I will be doing the brake system as I already have all the set up from my 93 SI. I have posted a few pictures of my D16Z6 engine before I send it to the SPA, LOL, to get clean.

While I wait for the block to come from the machine shop I decide to work on my brake system. I will be putting new rotors, pads, brakes lines, speed bleeders as well as giving a car more detailing to kind of set my car apart from the rest, at least around my way. Here is a picture of the stuff I got, still undersided on the brake lines, I have seen some good ones on ebay at almost half as the russell lines but I will have to wait and see.

He envys me because my car doesn't have rust. It might have a red Fender, which it will be replace with an original fender with original white paint the hood will be replace with maybe a CF one or I might just paint the stock one white. Im not the type that goes to radical with mods, A few things here and there but nothing to crazy. Japanease tail lights, and yellow corner lights and fog lights. For rims Im planning on getting either rota, or some gram lights either on gold or bronze. front and rear lip that will we painted white when I paint the whole car I just have to find out which white to paint the car. CF hood and wing but all this will be after I finish my engine set up. Hope this wont kill my civic. Im open for sugestion from you guys, you guys might know mofifications or other things that can do to my civic.

Got my Russell brake lines plus I decided to get new wheel studs, lugs to kind of finish my whole brake set up. I really wanted the lugs that are open at the end, kind of like when the studs shows at the end of the lug it gives a car a more racing aparence. I saw some on ebay and in Honda-tech I will check them later.

wow...so how much money do you have so far?
A lot of the stuff I alredy had from the racing car that I sold. , Some stuff I buy along the way everytime I sell something from my previous drag racing project I buy something for my civic. I do a little work on the side as well from time to time and I use that money tours my civic. Plus the Speed card of Summit Racing is a big plus. I probably have a couple of thousands already. but pretty much when I get the engine back from the shop, I already have everything for it. I wil said that I have two of the most expensives hobbies, Cars and DJ. But when you plan in advance and look for the deals, you save a lot of money on the long run. But when you don't know what you doing you ended up expending a doble or even triple the money.

Im 1000% Boricua, Born and Raise,or should I said Puertorican so that everyone will understand. But as a respect for everyone here, I will post my messages in english. After all this is an american website. Plus I want to give a chance for everyone to understand what Im writing and to give everyone a chance to post their opinions, good or bad. By the way I was installing the lines wrong with only one washer. After taking a look on my OEM manual, I notice that it takes two, one on above the banjo and the other at the botton. so I fixed it and everything is good to go. Sorry but today I woke up super late and I wasn't in the mood at all, LOL. But manage to take my baby to the garage, now I just have to put my baby on jack stands and get busy. Plus I didn't took my camara, like I mention before I will like to keep record of my mods and post them here so that I can help a few of you guys out there.
Until then.....

The 93 SI, I got lucky because the guy put it on ebay and the guy back up so I got for $500. Then the 4 door EX belong to guy that buys cars at the action and he had it for a while, it had a blown engine and a crack windshield and it was missing the rear spoiler that I'm still looking for it. I guess I get lucky,

That's cool. sometimes i will get lucky and find stuff like that. i recently baught a 1990 honda accord (straight body and decent paint) for only $250. the guy thaught he blew his motor, turnes out me and my dad were able to get it to turn over and now it runs pretty good. i hope i can find a 92-95 hatchback for that price.

I found my housemate a 93 CX hatch for a thousand bucks about a month ago. Pretty decent car too... the interior is practically mint and it came with all the serice records back to the point of purchase! The only flaw was two half-dollar size areas of rust on each rear-quarter panel. Still, with that and 143k it was a pretty sweet deal.

Peace and Llove

I finish with my rear brake swap. I wanted to take many pictures to kind of show a how to, but my batterie is damage and is no longer holding the charge so I limit to a few pictures only. Here they are, the before and after:

After shot, much much better. Even thou it will be a lot of work later on but I will paint everything and give the car a new undercoating to bring that nice black finish under the car.

Ahhhhhhhhh the satisfaction of a finish hard work. On rims that are open like mine that you can actually see everything behind them, you can actually see and admire a disc set up. It just looks nicer and cleaner.
Now I have to be 100% that I need to change the proportion valve and the brake booster from my SI to my DX and then Im done for now with my braking system.
Now if I can only get my block from the shop so that I can start my engine build up.
Untill thennnnnnnnnnnnnn........

Boricuanology

They call me and told me my engine was ready, I was very excited. When I asked them if they have notch the block at the botton to make clearance for the rods, they told me no, so now I have to wait till the notching so that I can start the building process. and of course I will post pictures and keep you guys posted.
So just sit and wait.
The good thing, I havent even run my car and I already have a few matches line up alraedy. I need to have my car tune perfectly so that I can make some money.
Everyone around my way they just think that by putting a turbo kit that was desing to run on a stock engine, with the most maybe 10 psi and thats pushing it, and without the car being tune, they think they are the badest car around my way, boyyyyyyyyy do I have a suprise for them.

my car will be a street legal car, i will drive it around as often or as time and weather allows me too. I will go to tracks when I have a chance, time and money as well, as a spectator sometimes racing events can be expensive, now imagine when you are a racer, with a Fam.. But my idea is to enjoy my car as much as possible. Perfect tunning is a most to ensure me that my engine will last me for a long time. I have two other cars my civic EX sedan, and my Mini Van, which is my family car. But you are absolutly right, whats the point of building a car if you can't enjoy it, is just im afraid of my car getting stolen, or damage by any haters out there.

about the stripped screw holes, only idea i got is some how machine the hole out bigger, and get a insert that is the right thread size, and epoxy it in there, but i dont know how well epoxy is with metal-metal, but im sure theres some sort of glue for that. im assuming you know what a snowboard is right? well, they have inserts like that, where you screw the bindings in, so my idea is to get something like that, probably a different size, and machine out the hole bigger and put the new housing in like i said before.

by the way, i just bought a 93 civic hatchback si yesterday, white too! mine has no rust at all, it was original owner and always garaged, even the weather stripping isnt cracked and paint looks brand new. but anyways, i was wondering how much you paid for your car, because i think i got a pretty good deal up here in canada on mine for 3500 can. let me know i would appreciate it.

by the way, i just bought a 93 civic hatchback si yesterday, white too! mine has no rust at all, it was original owner and always garaged, even the weather stripping isnt cracked and paint looks brand new. but anyways, i was wondering how much you paid for your car, because i think i got a pretty good deal up here in canada on mine for 3500 can. let me know i would appreciate it.

I saw pictures of the white SI that you got, Looks super sweat!!! I will build that engine for boost, there are d16 engines doing over 400hp.

Anyway if you decide to do an engine swap, this book will help.

whats wrong with Mi Projecto!!

2 hole threads are stripp on the block, this I find out after I had the tranny ready to be bolt to the block.
Im trying to fix the treads without making them any bigger. They told me that I can use a thread tap and kind of go over and clean/fix the tread. If this don't work then I will go to the next step which will involve drilling the hole and making them bigger.

Anybody knows the thread tap size I suppose to get? I try sears but they didn't have it in a small size kit, they only have a big kit that cost like $80. Went to advace auto and my friend told me the size is (M12-1.25)
The tap kit at sears have M12-1.50 and some other size, cant remember now, it didn't have the M12-1.25.

Remember Im trying to fix the actual thread, not make it any bigger.

Ok I manage to fix the problem with my stripped threads. But insted on doing it in a diffrent post, I figure I do it here.

As shown in the pictures this were the ones that strip on me, and thats the most that I was able to screw them in.
http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/4541/twodamageboltrf7.jpg

This is the tap that I used to fix my stripped threads (M12-1.25)
I went to MSC to get the right thread size since none of the auto parts sells it.
http://img453.imageshack.us/img453/9206/tapm12125kx9.jpg

The next thing that I did in my case being that my clutch is alreasy install was to put some rags and paper to make sure that no fluids or pieces of metal will fall into the clutch or engine. Then I will insert the tap by hand.
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/267/insertthetapbyhandjo3.jpg

Then I use the tap holder. This holder I only used it for a little bit because being that my clutch was install, the handles of the holder were hitting the clutch. Then I switch to a small rachet with a 12 point 8mm and I finished by hand Remember, try to do it in three steps. each step going in one third making sure when you take it out is clean and ready to use it again
http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/6554/thenusethetapholderov6.jpg[/img]

Remember to keep it clean, as you can see in this photo it gets full of materials. Thats why you do it in a 3 section, to get the materials out.
http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/4984/dirtytapcm0.jpg

Make sure that there is no material left on the thread, and now, to test the threads.
The result? see picture below. Happy bolts screw all the way in.

Hi guys, I manage to install the tranny, harness, starter BUT!!! When it was time to the distributor it was down to hell. First of all the bolts that hold the distributor, The one that is at the top, the one that is part of the rocker assambly for some reason bend and now is broken all the way around.
In this picture you can see it on the left side where the part just bend and broke.
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/745/bronken1aq6.jpg

In this other picture you can see it from behind. you can see the that is broket all the way around.
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/2088/brokenignition005cw6.jpg

As you can see, the distributor can't line up all the way in. You can also see the broken part being all bend up.
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/915/distributorinstallfl0.jpg

I wanted to leave it like that, but Im afraid of oil coming from there. For some reason I feel like the distributor was goin in kind of tight. I almost sure that I was installing it right, unless I should have turn the rotor 180 degree around in order for it to fit the grove.

Has this happend before? I have the feeling that it was probably like that and by me screwing it it just broke.

I made sure I did, Im just confuse about being 180 degree off and if that was the case, I guess this is what happends. I will do all over again when I go to the garage next time.

Just becarefull on those 2 partialy stripped threads. Your dizzy isn't in all the way but, since it's cracked. You might be able to get it welded or replace the head. Otherwise you'll leak oil.

Boricuanology
09-24-2007, 08:20 PM
One guy told me that you have to kind of push it in by hand in order to go all the way in, the bolts are there just to prevent the distributor from moving, timing. So I guess I should have, #1 make sure is line up correctly, #2make sure I push it all the way in.

Boricuanology
09-30-2007, 04:01 AM
Ok guys just came from the garage, I already replace the part that was broken and torque everthing back. Butttttttttttt the problem remains. The dizzy doesn't want to go in all the way. I took the dizzy and put in on a blown engine that I got that is still complete and the dizzy line up perfect. Could it be the wrong cam, wrong head, Now Im really worry.
I will post pictures tommorow.

Boricuanology

Out with the broken one in with the good one.
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/5231/replacemg1.jpg

I Manage to replace only the end part of the rocker arm assambly, hopefully this will save me from adjusting the valves all over again. I will do this again anyway, after the engine is up and running to make sure everything is like it suppose to be. Now I just have to torque everything back.
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/8694/distributor006xb6.jpg

As you can see, It is still of. I still gonna make sure that It is line up perfectly. Could it be that i got the wrong cam? Maybe the end of the cam is damage? I got this head assambly fully rebuild from a reputable ebay seller that sells the whole head assambly including the rocker arm and camshaf.
http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/4919/stillslooksoffvr4.jpg

I tested it on a blown engine that I got and it went in perfect. Try to put it in 180 degree off and It didn't wanted to go in, meaning that it only goes in one way like the books says. Once it was line up, it went in perfect without the need of pushing hard at all. As you can see it is all the way in against the head like it should.
Could it be that the Dizzy or the Camshaft is from an automatic insted of a 5 speed? Would that be the problem?

LOL is ok, when it comes to cars it comes down to "if you know what your doing".
I have seen Huynday with a 1.5 engine run on the 9's in the 1/4 mile.
13B rotaries are knocking the door of the 6's in the 1/4 mile, Pica Racing 7.13@191mph.
So nothing will suprise me no more.

I should just raise my expectation a bit, can anybody said 11's in the 1/4, maybe 10 with proper tunning.;)

try maybe spinning the dizzy around the other way and make sure the two teeth are going into the cam. I know when i was having a dizzy problem and switched mine with one off my friends car it was really hard to push in mine but slid easily into his. Once you have the dizzy teeth lined up maybe try pushing really hard, sometimes that o-ring will give you problems. And its more than likely not your head

One question guys if you can help me out.
Some of the parts come with a serial number or ID number.
Can anyone provide the id/serial number for the following parts?
Head, Camshaft,Dizzy.
Remember that is for a 92-95 1.6 D16Z6,
V-tec engine.
Also would the id/serial number change if the car is automatic/5 speed/civic/Del Sol?

Thank you guys!, Help me finish with this project that should have been running already since spring time. LOL

Good news guys, I manage to find out what was wrong with the distributor. Actually it was the camshaft end where it connects to the distributor. As you can see, it looks like someone banged it really good to the point of bending it in the inside.
http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/2329/badcamshaftbr3.jpg
here you can see the area that is damage.
http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/7196/pointbadcamtd5.jpg
I took this pictures to give you guys an idea of why the distributor didn't want to go all the way in, as you can see thats the most that it went in.
http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/980/distributorcamac3.jpg
This pictures shows how big is the gap, you can actually fit a small screw driver.
http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/1213/bigspacebetweenfu6.jpg
For those of you putting an engine together, make sure that the cam and the distributor will fit perfect
like I'm showing in this picture.
http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/954/goodcamug4.jpg
If it looks like this the camshaft is damage, get a new one or a used one in good codition.

Today is the day to drop the engine in, but I have a few last minute questions.

For those using the Performer X Edelbrock Manifold, Does anybody know where this piece goes? the Vacum is connected and so is the electrical harness but where does it go? Do I live it hanging like that?
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2900/performerxedelbrockmanipe2.jpg

BACK OF THE PERFORMER X EDELBROCK MANIFOLD.
Do I live it hanging, or theres a way to make this part look like it does on the OEM factory intake.
http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/6061/intakemanifoldow1.jpg

Another question.
On the OEM D16Z6 Throttle body the map sensor is right on top of the throttle body.
http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/7038/d16z6throttlebodyoo5.jpg

Being that I have a 92 DX, the map sensor is not on the throttle body but on the engine bay wall!!
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/3383/d15b7throttlebodyda4.jpg
http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/2081/92mapsensorjn3.jpg

The throttle body that I'm using is a GSR. it kind of looks like the D16Z6.
My question is, what do I do with that extra vacum plug now that I'm using a Tunner Toys maq sensor block off adapter.

IC Piping I got it from ebay. The name of the company I belived to be Streamline. its a nice set up, specially has the flange for my Tial BOV. But I most warm you, it does need some notching on the cold and hot side in order for the piping to fit perfectly. I guess it all depends on the type of intercooler you are using.

Now im just stock untill I find a good, cheap radiator/fan that will be better than the EG OEM and also will make room for my 3" downpipe.
So if you guys have any suggestion for a radiator, Please help me out and keep it comming with any suggestions.
I heard about a OEM Honda Del Sol, that it suppose to be better than the original equip on the EG, But I don't know which one it is, what year Del Sol are they talking about.

I have also seen a lot sold on different Forums and on ebay, but which will be the best bang for a buck,
Can somebody help me out so that I can get going with my build?

And once again thank you for your support and your help, ;)

I know the feeling man, I happend to me with my toyota Starlet on route 78 coming from NY at 3 am, they were a pack of like 10 of them. After moving left and right , just when I thought that I have skip all of them, bammmm the biggest one decide to freeze in front of my car and the rest is history.

Anyway, good luck with the rebuild!!

Update!!!
Since I didn't want to mess up by doing my own downpipe and downtube. I ended up sending my stuff to Greg from AUTOWORKS which they were nice enough to do the work for me.
So while I wait for my stuff I decide to start modifiying the bumper to clear the intercooler, install my Tial BOV and finaly, install some couplers/tbolt (once again, thanks greg)
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/2803/tialbovjr2.jpg
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/8022/throttlebodycouplingandwc8.jpg

Waiting for the rest of the parts to arrive back from Autoworks, I will then modify the intercooler piping install the rest of the couplers and t-bolts and volaaaaa!
http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/9148/intercoolerbumperandbovyf5.jpg

After cutting myself (4) times and Im not kitting, I manage to modify the bumper to make room for the intercooler. I install the bumper just to have an idea of how it will look. I kind of wanted the sleeper look so I didn't want anybody to see my intercooler so obvious but I didn't have any choice.

Update!!!

Its been a while, been to busy with the holydays, but I got my stuff from Greg from Autoworks on time as always, I was to busy, lazy + the its been cold around my way so everything was on hold... till now!

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/4037/downpipetubeinstall003qj3.jpg

I put the radiator back to test fitted and it seems that everything will be perfect, I just need to get me a slim fan and everything should be fine.

After putting everything back I did notice however that I have a tiny leak on the retur oil line from the turbo, not sure if the line itself needs ajustment or if it is damage, besides that everthing seems to be falling in place.
Will try for tomorow to install the wires, battery and finish the IC pipes and take the O2 sensor out of my other engine and install it on this one.

The best way to end the year and start a new one?
Have this engine up an running!!!!!

Suppppppppp guysssssssssssssss!!

Havent forgot about my baby, is just I need it to take care of some other things, for exanple loosing 36lbs so far, so I put everything in hold for a while.

Butttttttttt now Im back!!

I wanted it to finish the front brakes and also install the ARP studs, but being that I need it to remove the hub made me not wanted to do this.
Finally I took some time to do this and also while in the process I notice that my driver side upper and lower ball joint were bad so I replace both of them.

Just want to said that it was a weekend of a lot of banging, LOL.

The weatherchannel, wheather man said that it would have been raining all day yesterday, so I didn't go to the Nopi event in Atco Raceway, NJ. Ended up being a beautifull day with now rain. Burn in hell weatherchannel/weather man.

So I went to the garage to work on my baby.

Got rid of my 3 bar GM map sensor on favor of my OMNI POWER 4 bar DIRECT FACTORY REPLACEMENT map sensors
As you probably know, the D16Z6 has the map sensor on top of the throttle body, in there now the 4bar OMNI POWER map sensor. My 92 DX has the map sensor on the fire wall as you can see in the picture.

http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/7269/92dxmapsensonfirewallab4.jpg

After pluging everything up notice this loose plug, all I know is that it is a 3 wire cable (1st yellow with green line, 2nd white and 3rd green) Anybody know where this one goes? Don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that I used the d16z6 engine harness on my 92 DX car harness.

The wires that you have in your hand that are the yellow, red and green are actually the Map sensor wires, they won't be wired into the strut tower plug so you'll have to plug up that one instead of the ex harness map sensor. Also, you have a 92, so you won't have to wire in vtec between the ecu and strut tower plug. But if you look at the back side of the strut tower plug, then you'll notice that there are 3 blank spots where wire should go, but they will be on the dx firewall instead, so use the plug that is left over from that instead of the ex like I said earlier.

Update!

ruff day yesterday, felt like I was in the garage for long time and didn't do much!!
After some advise from you guys I did put the fan in the other side. Looks a lot better now. forgot to take picture of it will do it next time.

Ok wanted to install a guage on my fuel rail yesterday, and the damm plug didn't want to come out for nothing. kind of strange since last time it was leaking from this same plug and all I did was barelly move it to stop the leak.
Now the damm plug don't want to come out, I ended up damaging the plug so now Im really in trouble here. In this picture you can see the allen plug right next to the fuel regulator. Anybody have a sugestion on how to remove this stupid plug now, I hate allen bolts for the same reason.
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/2421/z6manifoldcoolinglines0yf7.jpg

Also have another issue going on with the (water hoses/connecting pipe/manifold) that I decide to put in on another thread itself.
http://www.d-series.org/forums/showthread.php?t=90390
please feel free to ad any inputs, ideas ect...

manage to install and connect all the intercooler piping, the hot side came out pretty good and easy.
http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/410/z6manifoldcoolinglines0ww1.jpg

the cold side however was a bit trickier. Starting from the throttle body, since the edelbrock have a bend, 45degree I think it is the pipe doesn't fit perfectly flat.
http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/1696/pipeonthrottleoffsd3.jpg

after a bit of moving it around manage to hold it in place, doesn't look bad IMO, later I will get a 45 degree silicone bend, this should take care of the problem If I do encounter
one.
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/3074/clamsonthrottlepipela0.jpg

The pipe ended up being to closed to the hole on the chassis (where the air box use to be) for now I will leave it like this, I will later fix this problem if it becomes an issue. I can always count on Greg from Autoworks to come to the rescue.
http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/8315/closetotheedgedq3.jpg

other than that it came out ok.
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1995/z6manifoldcoolinglines0oo0.jpg
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/4213/coldsidepipingvn9.jpg

Manage not to srew the battery installation, LOL. Nothing fancy, advance auto battery.
http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/7285/advancebatteryvw9.jpg

till next time, hopefully I will have all this issues resolve!!

Boricuanology

After cursing, hitting, trowing, slamming, kicking, banging, and more and more cursing I manage to get the damm allen plug out. It took me a while since everytime I will drill a hole and try the bolt extractor, it will only take more chunks of metal of the allen bolt but it will not remove the damm bolt, finally it did, after hours and hours of cursing LOL.
http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/411/allenboltfromhellkf9.jpg

Now everything is back in place including the fuel pressure guage.
http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/7152/coolinghosesallenbolt00ao6.jpg

also took care of the issue that I had with my cooling hoses being that some D16Z6 engine did came in fact with different connecting pipe and also different intake manifolds. whole story short, here was my solution.
http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/9352/coolinghosesallenbolt00xn3.jpg

My first idea was to connect two of the hoses from the connecting pipe (2 nipples) into the Y, then the other one to the EACV. But ended up doing this, accourding to the diagrams both ways would have been ok, this way was much easier, and it still retain the original flow of the cooler.

You be surprized the stuff you can get at the U-Pull it, best thing is that its working 100% and I only paid $20 only cause I didn't have a old one to gave as a spare otherwise It would have cost me only $12, LOL.

http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/8015/fanswitchbatteryvacuumbct5.jpg

Finally Got my boost guage, so I will be installing all my vacuum lines, just waiting for my vacuum silicone hoses to arrive. I got this manifold block from FastTurbo some time ago It came with the copper fittings I will use this to run all my vacuum lines.

update!!!
I did found a garage, two block from where I live which is awsome. Car looks the same, I havent had a chance to clean it better. I bought some 3M products which I will be using them with the polisher when i get a chance.
My plans are to finish the car and have it tune, the car will be tune via eCtune which I already got, I will also use it with the EBC which can be control with the program itself.
Also got a NGK Powerdx wideband which Im still installing/connecting everything on the car so that I can star messing with the program.
So as soon as everything is good to go I probably take it to get tune just to see the full potencial of the car (now) rather than my trying to figure out how to tune it.

I'll make sure I take video of the tunning.

Before I start with the tunning, I want to install my gauges so that I know whats going on with my set up. Now I hava a black interior that I will swap for my blue one so I will be installing my black dash but before I do I will install the tach pod with the gauges.
Being that I already had most of the gauges size 2 5/8 I decided to go with the tach pod from Autometer, this pod will hold my Moster tach and two of my Mechanical guages (Water Temp & Oil Pressure) As you can see in the pictures, is the fitting that you see at the end of the water temp guage suppose to go where the thermostate housing is, bleeding screw?

Waoooo!! Its been a while, so I guess I better update and show you guys how my project is coming alone, slowly but surely!!

At the beginning I kind of wanted to install my gauges using the auto meter adaptor for EG's that mounts the gauges where the center vents are but change my mind and went with what I think is a cleaner look.

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/1962/miprojectolacivica011.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/155/miprojectolacivica011.jpg/)

Also my engine its been done for a while now but I was waiting on the gauges to be up and running prior to starting the engine to make sure everything was OK.
Here are a few pictures showing my different set up. I went with the stock intake manifold for now so pretty much the only modification to the engine is the Vitara pistons, Eagle rods, and ARP studs. Also now my turbo is facing the passenger side instead of driver side. Once again thanks to Greg from Autoworks.

Stay Tune for "The Project Strikes Back" Mi projecto "La Civica". It will have a totally new engine, D16Z6 bore .20 over, Vitara Pistons, FJ Rods, Performance Porting stage 5 head with competition valve angle job, 272-2 Delta cam, oem water pump, oil pump (modify by performance Porting) Edelbrock Intake port match to head also a 70mm throttle body match to intake, 1000cc Precision Turbo Injectors, 4 bar Omni point map sensor. Tune on eCtune!!! Tuner to be decide!!!!!
My Plan Is to see how far I can make it with the engine I have in the car at the moment, to later switch to my new engine and push it a bit more. My goal is to do 12"s- 11's and who knows what can happen.
Hope you guys can help me out and point me out in the right direction since I know there's a lot of members here in Clubcivic.com and D-series.org that have made it and pass what my ultimate goal is.
Wish me luck!!!

After the fire I'm just glad my car didn't burn. It is sad to see the engine bay like this after I painted it and had looking mint. After i reach my goal of 12 sec or faster I will pull everything out and make it look better than before.

Anybody know whats the normal operating water temperature on a turbo civic? I have a half size radiator with a 12" slim fan and according to my mechanical water temp gauge it went up all the way to 210 degree and that's where the fan kicks in. By the way I'm not running a thermostat.

Now I have the same radiator/fan set up on my boys EK hatch with ls-vtec and we can still see the temp in his cluster besides the one on the mechanical gauge and in the cluster the water temp needle is marking like a little over a 1/4 which is normal and OK but in the mechanical gauge is marking 200 degree.

Is this the normal water temp temperature on a SOHC Turbo Civic that has a half size rad with a 12" fan? In my case I'm using my fan in front of the radiator as a pusher if this makes any difference. Now I have a new set up which I can put back the fan behind the rad, like factory, and use it as a puller instead but if this is not necessary I leave at that. Just want to make sure my car is not over heating or anything cause I'm about to tune the car and push it limits.

Any input would be appreciate!!!

PS- Can you guys see the link for the video of my car running, in there you can see the water temperature gauge at 200 degree already.
