You can go to court and ask for the records of when the gun was last calibrated. If it hasn't been serviced and calibrated by the schedule set forth in your state then the evidence is no good. My brother-in-law did this in a town near where we live. They had one document but not another one that was needed so he got out of the ticket. He was doing 60 in a 55 and the sherrif clocked him at 68 mph, so he felt like something was wrong. It wasn't in his best interest to do this though because he has to go up to that town to pick up his daughter every other week and now the sherrif follows him around and stuff.

Depends on the judge.
I was riding my bike with two other guys and we turned onto the service road to SH 360. The two bigger bikes hammer the throttle open and tear away from me (750 Katana and a CBR600F3 vs my 400) I was about to pursue them when I saw the police car ahead by a nightclub so I just putted along. Didn't even break the speed limit. He was already out of his car when I passed by and he flagged me over.
I got the same ticket as the other two riders.
In court, the cop stated that the 3 of us were riding "abreast" (I was riding a GSF400 Bandit, not a breast hahahah) I got him to recant his story on the stand and he couldn't explain how he was out of his car already and flagged me over to the parking lot when the 3 of us were alledgedly riding "abreast".
He also couldn't explain how he radared 3 vehicles simultaneously. He stated that we appeared to be riding "abreast"
I was found guilty anyway.

Before an officer with a radar equipped vehicle even leaves the station to begin a shift guess what is done? The radar unit is checked for accuracy with a couple of little tools. If the unit doesn't read the exact mph it should, then that radar unit is fixed.

Yeah cause speeding tickets don't generate enough revenue to really care about. If you get pulled over by a cop, especially a state trooper or highway patrol... they checked their shit.
