Right guys im hopeing you can help me im hopefully moving to california soon with the prospect of a very good job but being a british boy/ man (im 27) ive had a few played with cars in my time and feel im going to need a toy to play with i have a friend over here who is big into civic's and ive caught the bug i need any help i can get on finding a nice car (where to look on net to buy) and what modifications i can do. Ive taken a likeing to the gen 5 i think it is the 92-95 model anyway. over here we have the vti which has he b16 lump which ive been told is the best but it looks like you only have the d16 and the highest model is the ex/si. what im after is any tips and help towards having some fun in america >`

Problem is i like the look of the gen 5's more + as its a toy not my full time car it wants to be fairly cheap

I use www.autotrader.com to find cars a lot of the time. Local classifieds are even better to get a real deal. As far as power goes, it looks like you're in for a swap.

in the car you wnat to get yes. cheap too. you can get a new motor. ie b16 b18b or b18c5 from the prices of 1k to 3k maybe more for the gsr but if you wait for a deal, but do it comon. and a good hatch or coupe here is like 2-3.5k

think the place is called Plesenton its south of Oakland im just waiting on visa and green card cant wait mind the weather over here has been very nice in the mid 30 c mark which is nice and warm for us >`

Thats not to bad cheers body work isnt really a problem for me as im quite handy at that and engine work i cant get enough of ive done a few engine swaps over here one was a beast you wont know the car but it came with a 1.4 l engine and i dropped in a 1.8 vvc (british version of vtec) then put throttle boddies on 285 solid cams and a stand alone ecu was pushing out 220 bhp and was smaller than a civic gen 4
