So im in the middle of redoing my dash in White/Blue and im not sure what to do with the buttons on the dash like the defroster and cruise and heater/ac shizzy. Just want to know what you peeps did with yours? maybe some pics? Thanks

... I don't know what to say, so i'll just say that most people around here don't really do that kind of thing, like painting their dash trims, but if thats what you're into then go ahead, make sure you use suitable paint for it... and have fun.

Paint them like you would paint any other plastic trim piece. Mask of what you don't want painted, sand, primer, sand, paint to your liking (recommend Krylon Fusion for plastic), clear coat, enjoy. Don't let others tell you what to do with your car. It's YOUR CAR. They won't be driving it everyday, you will be. Whatever floats your boat.

I did red and white to my dashboard and didnt even do the switches and it still looks damn good but its all up to you. Heres a pic ENJOY!!!! Anymore idea or questions let me know

I'd tear out and keep all the stock stuff (since it's more difficult to find all matching parts again if you want to go back) and then buy new pieces of whatever color to paint.

I've seen some people change their minds about painting the interior, and even worse, it seems to hurt selling the car in the future. One of our friends is already working on replacing just a few piece in his car that, for some reason, were painted white.

I still remember when people used to change the color of their interiors (look in reader's rides in magazines today.. they still do it too). No matter how popular it is though, I still won't like it and I will think it's gaudy.

Sorry, I honestly never liked it. I did however like tweed wrapped interior and still respect it more than taking a spray can to it.

realy i dont see the point of trying to be JDMits like your not being you own person your trying to be like those people across the pond or as if your keeping your car stock-like. I think that if your gonna throw money into your car you should show it off and rep what work you have done. if you go up to someone and show your JDM stuff most arent gonna think ne thing of if because they dont know and its stock like parts. I like to show what i have done and i like to be differnt. unfortunatly now days that is called rice....

JDM has nothing to do w/ it and it bothers me when ricers use JDM as their defense. Even when that loud obnoxious style was in it was still reffered to as rice. No other type of car builder takes a spray can to a stock interior. Fiberglass is used, tweed or leather wrapping, and even CF molds. That's a custom interior. Any monkey can go to autozone and buy a spray can, but yeah you demand respect for that.

JDM blah blah blah. No one here has even mentioned it but you.

I don't think anyone came in and straight up hated. Some peopel said they don't like it, but no one came in and yelled at you for it.

This is how it often is on a public forum. In fact I think a lot of people have been rather graceful about saying they don't like it.

If you go up to somenoe and show them your painted dash most into cars aren't going to think anything of it besides maybe laugh about it.

Just like how some people like multicolored painted interiors... some people like JDM parts. I don't whore out to JDM stuff... but I do see it as another place to get different parts for my car from my favorite company... Honda. what can I say, they make a great product.

Point is though... Don't put down other people for what they liek to do to their cars. It's hypocritical of you to tell us we can't "hate" on what you want to do to your car, but you can hate on people for wanting JDM parts.

I don't understand equating everytime someone doesn't like something that it must be "hating" and the people saying it must be "haters".

haha look what i started. now lets make one thing VERY VERY CLEAR. NO SPRAY CANS OR SPRAY PAINT all wrapped in film Paint just chips and i wasn't going to have a chipped up car. And i also agree with Gonzo. You want to do your car up all JDM go ahead power to you. there is nothing wrong with JDM some of it looks okay but me Im a leader i set my own trend no copies no look a likes. My car is a representaion of me and my style JDM is a represention of the cars over seas looks cool but everyones doing it If someone shows me a hooked up car thats all JDM yea its gonna look good it will prolly have style but BIG WHOOP its something that i have already seen over and over. Now if someone comes up to me with car with blue & white or red and white or pink and yellow it doesnt matter the color that car is gonna stand out more because of style, originality, and flava its something that isnt seen over seas and here in the US of A. And as far as my car goes and the rest of the so called "rice" in the words of a wwe wreslter "now thats cool"

But yes, I also put on my vehicle what I want on my vehcle. I prefer it to be low key though. I just like that look better. I also come from a family of muscle car enthusiast though and well, I guess I've been taught that parts made by the auto maker are not always a bad thing. Even before I had a car I could not stand painted interiors and large wings. I don't even like the factory Si win.. and I (for the most part) like factory parts... It's just too much for me.

You have to understand that though you think that you only do things to your cat that you like.. maybe some peopel who put JDM parts on their car just plain LIKE IT FOR THEMSELVES too? I don't care if you like my car or if anyone else does. I woudlnt' call you a hater for saying "I don't like those wheels," or "why do you have that clock up there when your CD player already has one?" (Yeah, I actually chose to have a stock CD player even though I could go get an aftermarket one.. I just like parts from Honda...) It's mine. I like it because it's mine. :what:

Look, different people have diffferent styles... Just because someone doesn't like yours does not mean they're a hater. And just because they like something besides what you like does not mean they're just trying to fit in.

My words were that if you like my car fine and if you dont then so be it BUT dont be the one who doesnt like it and talks sh*t about it or call it a "retarted candy cane" (<---yea some1 seems retarted alright) or put it down cuz i aint putting your sh*t or anyone elses sh*t down i like civics regardless and so doesnt everyone here and regardless the look its still a civic its just originallity.
