ok soo i have a 95 Hatch Dx with a 1.6 SOHC Vtec swap, port and polish head...stock intake, stock header, so just a purty much stock swap....i raced a looked to be 94 prelude? somewhere in that year range...from a dead stop i jumped out by bout half a car 1st 2nd and a lil thru 3rd and then he reeled me in and start pullin off and beat me by bout 3 cars and we left off.....how is it possible for a car close to 3000lbs with 30 more hp outran me?

more torque + more horsepower + not more then 800lbs heavier then you car = toast.

get used to getting smoked after third. or in the middle of third.

yeah, preludes have alot of torque... usually they're quicker off the line too. I raced my cousins lude with stage 2 clutch and he surprised me.

was it an Si or no? If it was an si, it was an h23 wchich would have been a close race with your dinky motor. Otherwise, he has 200hp, 161 trq...you'd have no chance.

There's no easy way to figure out if its a base, Si, or vtec model by looking at it. You'd have to ask him.

yeah no trim level badges and no real tells on that gen lude as to what's under the hood...could be an F22,
H23, or H22. anyway, all of those motors own the D16 when it comes to good ole' torque.

I'm pretty sure the VTEC Preludes have a VTEC decal on the back.
