help needed

I drive a 99 honda civic 1.6 ils coupe.

I am starting to get a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel? Which has gradually gotten worse. I change the steering rack boots to spurious ones. And greased them up. The noise went for a while and now it is back!

Has anyone got any ideas on what the problem might be.

(It's a quite loud squeak!)

Often times, squeaks are from things like shocks, suspension bushings, ball joint and/or tie rods. Could be something with the power steering. Unfortunately these kinds of issues are hard to troubleshoot over the internet. Most reputable mechanic shops will diagnose the issue for free, and give you an estimate for repairs.

Grab that smartphone of yours and make a video of the issue. Theres many parts that coukd make different squeaks during different conditions

Sounds lads I'll take a video of it later after work and post it up and show you what I mean.

And I'll also take to a garage during the week to see what it is they've to say.

It seems to just come from passenger side.
