1997 Honda Civic LX ignition to Solenoid wire

My brother pulled the battery off my car, but when he put it back on the car's alarm started beeping. Everything else works fine, but when I turn my key, the starter won't run. I narrowed it down to the connection between the ignition and the starter, but I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to replace the wire, or find where it could have got shorted. I'm also having trouble tracing where the wire enters the interior of the car since immediately after leaving the solenoid, it goes into the main electrical conduit leading to the car's computer on the passenger side. Any thoughts on what I'm supposed to do? Thanks!

I think your issue is the alarm (assuming aftermarket). It likely has an ignition kill function. Disconnecting the battery might have triggered a theft prevention function. If aftermarket, and you know the brand/model, may be able to find out how to reset in this situation.
