I have 90 honda civic dx that wont start from the ignition. I have a brand new battery, and starter. When i turn the key the dash lights light up, i turn the key and press down the clutch and nothing happens. When i go under the hood to the starter and connect the power wire to the signal it starts right up. please help

I had something similar happen with me a week ago. Turned out to be a bad ground wire.

It could be the little rubber piece at the top of the clutch pedal. It may have snapped off so now it is not depressing the clutch safety switch, disabling the car.
