I have a Honda Civic VTI 2009. It has happened twice now in the last 6 months where I have detected burning smell/smoke from the dashboard. This has happened when the car has been driven at speed around 100-120 km/hr for around a couple of hours with a mobile charger unit running from the auxiliary power unit and the CD player is played. The first time it happened when the music was being played through the AUX in.
During the last service all electrical components were checked and found to be OK. Looks like there are problems with the load at high speed. I couldn't reproduce the issue at lower speed. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Initially I thought the issue might be to do with the mobile charger I use. But now I have a good quality Belkin charger
