My 96 LX is sick. #4 cylinder isn't firing. I've checked injectors, changed the wires, button, cap, plugs and coil. Please help!!!

If it happens to be the cylinder, what is there that can be done? With a motor with close to 300xxx I can't see rebuilding it.

I pulled the injector plugs to check for change in idle as well as plug wires. Checked the resistance in injector wires all are at 13.5. Its blowing a lot of white smoke from the tail pipe which I'm assuming is fuel that isn't being burnt. Number 4 plug was the worst with a little burnt oil when I changed them.

Cel codes. Misfire on cylinder 4 and 2 and random misfire. I've checked for spark at the wires. All spark except for 4.

So, do you think no spark at plug 4 is relevant?

And you didn't think mention of misfire in cyl 2 and random misfire was also relevant?
Misunderstanding. I assumed that cylinder misfire would cause it not to spark. And I checked #2 plug and it seemed to be firing fine. Didn't think it was important.

So you replaced the cap rotor ignition coil plugs and wire? And no spark to cylinder 4 misfire in cylinder 2 and random misfire code? Are you sure the new coil is good, id test it if it ohms out like its suppose to then remove the icm from your distributor and take it to a auto parts store to be tested
