well, I just did this after checking the thermostat (which does work), and I can't really tell if there is a leak or not. I filled my rad and my reserve up... later on, I'm gonna go drive a bit and see what happens.
well, my EM1 has been overheating a bit lately and seems to be leaking a small amount of coolant after I drive it aggressively. I've noticed the radiator fan is not turning itself on as well. however, I have tested the fan and it works fine.
I've already purchased a new thermostat, although...
JDM exhaust (2.5 inch)
JDM Type-R camshafts, valves, retainers, etc.
should be able to get all that for about 2 grand if you shop right and know how to install yourself.
once again man, you've helped me out. hahaha. tell me you work on hondas for a living?
do you have paypal? I see you helping everyone all the time. I'd like to donate to the cause.
okay. so I got some new NGK Iridiums and wire set to put in my EM1.. everything was going fine until I got to the 3rd plug (3rd from the right-most plug), and as I loosen the plug (counter-clockwise, obviously) it actually feels like its tightening up... it gets to a point where I can't loosen...
dude. keep your EM1.
I paid almost 5K for mine, and there are a ton of cosmetic issues. but guess what? it's an EM1, and honestly, I think you'll love the car once you let the little things go. make it run good and then deal with the cosmetic stuff.
for a B16, you will probably get some good gains putting some Type-R camshafts in. but that also leads to upgrading valves, valve springs, retainers, etc... runs into money, but worth it in my opinion.
I paid about $4700 for mine, and it needs some exterior work (front-driver fender, rear bumper) and I feel like I got a great deal.
these cars book for $4000 trade in value... if you look at it and its in RELIABLE, then definitely get it.
what color is it? :)
EDIT:
My EM1 also doesnt have an...
I didn't say there was anything wrong with having something welded to my exhaust, because right now its completely welded except for the connector between the header and the cat. I would just simply like to avoid such measures because 1.) I do not know how to weld. 2.) I do not own a welder. and...
found a couple of type-r replicas...

I have a DC 4-1 header on the car.... I ended up getting a high-flow cat from eBay... Some brand called OBX-R or something. the real only important thing is that the cat required no welding, which is why I originally started looking for a replacement cat to begin with.
this is what I got...

thinking of installing a high-flow cat or test pipe to bolt up to my Yonaka catback. will the exhaust be noticeably louder with a high-flow cat? obviously a test pipe will make it louder, and I'm assuming a high-flow cat will, as well. but I'm always seeing "for offroad use only" on a lot of...
