    I had same symptoms on my 91 Civic. I replaced the main fuel relay and temp sensor and issue was resolved. Some say if you 're soldered the terminals in the the main fuel relay that will solve the issue, I'm not that good at soldering I replaced mine. You can get both at local auto parts stores...

    Over the weekend I damaged the O2 sensor, wire torn out sensor. Replaced sensor now after engine warms up the check engine light comes on, the neck blinks once, book says this is an O2 issue.     It's back together and running better than last night but still had a small dead spot on initial acceleration but it will have to do for now. The compression check k will have to wait until til next week.... thank you for the help....

    It appears to get out all slack on the belt I need to move either the cam or crank and if this so which one in which direction??? Clockwise or counter clockwise?????

    You said it was possibly off by 1 tooth. The crank or cam? I have it apart and it appears everything is lined up as it was last night. Any suggestions??????

    Now it runs worse than it did before. It's completely dead from a stop, but once it gets to about 1200 rpm it runs fine.

    The distributor will not allow me to adjust it further than it is which is about midway between tdc and the next timing mark

    Got it started, corrected the timing, but it seems to be short about 5 - 8 degrees.

    I got it as taught as I could without prying the belt on from the cam gear. I'm all ears if you have a trick to this.

    The least amount of slack on the left side of the belt I can it to is about 1/4" deflection.

    Y e s I used the same belt when I changed out the water pump and the plugs are 3 years old with 12,000 miles on them but I'm changing them out now.

    What is the theory/logic/reasoning behind replacing timing belt such as I'm going through as opposed to readjusting the current belt/timing???? Curious....
