Nope, there would be no reason for the Si to have an auto tranny. Hondas in general get their peak performance at higher rpm ranges and manual trannies are needed to keep the rpm's up there. With an auto, the Si would pretty much suck performance-wise.

I was talking to a friend one day and told him that I plan to swap out my current motor in my '94 hatch for a DOHC motor and do the VTEC wiring, etc. but he said that having a DOHC motor with VTEC doesn't really matter and said that a SOHC non-VTEC could perform just as well...but I heard that...

I just picked up a '94 hatch and I was wondering what motor to drop into it. I have about 2K-4K to spend and I just want something to serve as a quick daily driver but can still have a go with the guy next to you at a stoplight. Any recommendations?

I took a ride in my friend's '00 Si and when he revved the engine, then let off the gas, the exhaust popped and cackled. What causes that sound? I heard it before but it seems only cars with extensive engine mods produce that sound.

Oh yeah, I remember watching that show about like 5-6 months ago. If I'm not mistaken, I think it's a white EG hatch, not sure about the exact year, but I remember it was like a white EG hatch. The show is called: Street Racing: The Need for Speed.
