    Buying Civic- Help

6th gen of course, preferably 99 - they look nicer. I would suggest getting bone stock EX from some lady driver. Such a car will last a long time and EX is lively enough. Stay away from any modded cars - you never know how well the job was done and often these cars are abused. Stay away from...

    CX or DX ?

6th gen CX and DX have the same engine. I have CX HB. It is assembled in Canada and is a strip down version of DX - no trunk cover. Black plastic trunk lip, DX has it painted matched color. I think mirrors are pained on DX as well. Has a/c, power steering. That's all. IMO it is not worth to...

    a/c condenser fan trouble

bypass the pressure switch: Unplug the connector to the pressure switch and put a jumper wire to the two prongs on the wire connector side. If A/C works your pressure switch is bad. If it does not work you are low on freon.

    Oil and oil filter question

    1) Probably Honda considers these filters are satisfactory enough. And they know what has been used on a car (otherwise they would need to run into trouble of certifying all these multiple filter brands and models) 2) I would not say it is bad quality, it just that I was surprised that they...

Clutch riding + Coasting in neutral

technically it is inertia that keeps the car moving, not the "force of momentum". The only force that acts on moving car in this case is the force of friction that slows it down eventually.

Clutch riding + Coasting in neutral

RonJ. I have not drawn much of a conclusion besides stating that based on my experience I consider TOB failure due to depressing clutch on stop signs a negligible effect, and asked you to give some estimate of premature wear due to this effect. (I should say that on "long" traffic lights I put...

Clutch riding + Coasting in neutral

define prematurely! This is the way I've always done it and my clutch lasted 206K miles. It may have lasted more, but my tranny needed replacement, so I replaced the clutch as well. The effect must be negligible. What wears clutch is balancing on half-engaged clutch.

    Vibration

As I said - rotate wheels (put rear right to front left, rear left to front right, front right to rear right, front left to rear left). See any change in vibration? If yes, (that is vibration disappeared - you have of of the wheels (one of the formerly front) dented, do not worry too much)...
