    lightest 15 and 16" wheels

Volk CE28N Volk TE37 SSR Competition or Type C Modex KS-CE Spoon SW388 or Desmond Regamaster (or Evo) Stark MS KYH AME Tracer Racing Hart CP-035 All of those should be under or about 10lbs in 15-16" sizes. I think the CE28N is the lightest for quite a few sizes.

    Spoons or C5's

from spoon's japan site: SW388: When of the aluminum wheel is thought portion of suspension, the lightweight hugely tough wheel is ideal. As for this SW388 series the forging cutting 1 piece, weight increase to be less than paint is finished with the shot alumite processing whose surface...

    Spoons or C5's

Spoon SW388 are NOT magnesium. They are aluminum. I would say, get Regamasters in silver (the company that makes the rims for Spoon). Then you've got the lightweight and the pretty shiny stuff. http://www.regamaster.com/index.html

    A retarted spring question...

You mean retarded, btw. Use high temp, flexible paint. They're constantly in motion while you're driving.

What Tire Pressure in 17" wheels ?

I typically run 2 or 3 psi higher than the recommended factory pressure for oem setup (on your doorjam). This has worked well for me in the handling and wear department. If you underinflate, your tires will wear on the outside edges faster. If you overinflate, the center of the tread will...

    Mugen wheels!

BTW: Mugen wheels are made by Rays Engineering (Volk) and the Spoon SW388 (the black wheel with all the copies) is made by Desmond (Regamaster). They aren't overpriced, just extremely lightweight and durable. Looks are an afterthought.

    Tread Wear Ratings

I agree for the most part. Here's where I disagree: Ride quality is not solely based on whether the compound is soft or hard. Sidewall stiffness plays a large roll too. Sidewall stiffness also has alot to do with traction/grip. For the most part, the treadwear ratings within a single...

    Tread Wear Ratings

He's correct. No such thing as an average rating, unless you want to tally it. 300 is good for the semi-performance tires you're probably buying.

    Volk ce28n knockoffs.

The fakes are also cast. The real deal is forged. That makes for a huge difference in weight and strength.

    How do offsets work?

This thread has been very confusing. Spitfire, why didn't you link him to tirerack so he could see the pic too? http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm Basically, a higher offset will be tucked in more. A lower offset will be closer to the fender. Since offset is based on...

    Konig Rim repair.

They sandblast, then fix bends/scratches (if needed), then powdercoat or paint, then clearcoat (if desired). It's a pain to fix most rims because they're clearcoated which makes cleaning easier and makes them look better, imho, but makes it a pain to fix at home without completely refinishing...
