The stock antenna wire wont plug into an aftermarket radio. You need that adapter for it to work, and it needs to be powered up too, the antenna is actually in the back windshield. Unless maybe you have a DX, than I don't know if that has the antenna plug that goes right into an aftermarket, I'm...

It only will go off (horn beeping) when you open the door with it armed. Get in your car, lock it with the remote, wait 15 seconds or so, then unlock the door by hand and open it.

LX and up come with stock alarm, not with a shock sensor though. Only if the door is opened. Anything with shock sensor is aftermarket (I'm pretty sure)
