You should never have to replace the PCV valve on Hondas, unless the car hasn't been maintained well, but if you do, use OEM only.

The law about Honda inventing VTEC? I understand that Honda didn't invent variable valve timing, but they were the first to develop the way VTEC works. Right?

Wait so the vx uses the three stage VTEC?

We had a 92 civic it had rough shifts so we just changed the fluid. That did a lot to smooth out the shifts. Just saying.

If its running on a straight exhaust like you say then it has no back pressure which would also cause no power on accel.

Check the valve cover gasket first, it's like the easiest thing to replace and it's not expensive at all.
