I just replaced the ignition coil on my civic, the problem now is im getting like a kick everytime i shift gears, could this be timing? and i think its whats causing the CEL light to come on every often. Also ive been having like gas smell coming out of the pipe i believe and its pretty strong...

Quick Update: I fixed the car yesterday, it did turned out to be the ignition coil. I replaced it and started up on the 3rd try. thx to everyone for there help.

Well i tried the map sensor swap with an honda accord it was exactly the same... that was a negative. i worked on it all day, i called the inlaw he's a pro mechanic and knows everything there is to know, so he helped me diagnose over the phone and told me to check for spark from first...

everything seems to be connected fine, i was thinking about swaping map sensor from another vehicle to test if that is the problem if not than i can just scratch that one off. will a map sensor from a 97 accord work? is the only thing i have available since its by b. inlaws car.

im shure i never did get to calibrated right because the readings where everywhere when i was trying to , i just put it according to how the car reacted and it was fine.
