I haven't changed them since I got the car. I've only had it about 6 months. I'll check in the morning, it's too dark to see.

It's definitely something ignition related. The car runs fine when you get it rollin and jump the clutch. The problem is, I'm a noob and have no idea how to check most of these things myself. Any directions would be appreciated. :)

So. I replaced the starter today hoping that would fix my no-start problem. (Gets old to have to push start your car whenever you wanna go somewhere... Thank goodness for manual transmissions) Car still won't start. Starter is getting 12 volts. I think the battery is good, it's putting out over...

Well my car still throws a code 1 on my drive home for work. Has done that for a while. I don't know why. But yeah, changing from LED to regular fixed the random CEL...

Yeah I just noticed it today. When I was coming home from work, the CEL brightened and was throwing code 1... I don't know why it goes dim instead of turning off... But the code 1 isn't the issue with the CEL... My CEL almost always comes on during my drive home on the same hill everyday...

Replacement ECU is same... CEL is on... No codes are throwing... I'm gonna drive it to work and back and see if anything changes... I tried pulling the fuse and disconnecting the battery after connecting the new ECU and nothing I did made any changes... I'm beginning to think the problem has...

Diagrams are awesome. Do you know if the needles for the 88-89 can be removed like they can in the later models? I had my old gauge cluster laying around for a few days, but I threw it out because the fuel gauge was broken. Now I wish I had kept it so I could tinker...

So... All of my needles work on my cluster, but I think the tach needle is off... It's kinda obvious when you look at it that it's not resting where it should be... Is there a way to fix the needles on an 89? I know some of the newer vehicles you can pop out the needle, but I don't think that...

What all has to match up when you buy a replacement ECU? I'm pretty sure the part number is the best bet, but apparently my ECU is rare and expensive haha... Was gonna check first to see how likely a different ECU is to work... I drive an 89 Civic hatch with a 1.5L engine and manual transmission.

My students have me to teach them how to do it. Yes, they learn by doing, but they also have someone to show them. Bad analogy. But yes, I get where you're coming from. I already said I was gonna try to learn to do things myself now. And if you kept reading you'd see I'm troubleshooting my own...
