If you're burning a half quart every 200 miles then the loss of power is probably b/c the plugs are covered in oil man, get those seals replaced and do a compression check to, and you're going to want to change those plugs again once you get the seals replaced and you stop burning oil.

You dont tear the block apart twice, just leave the stock bottom end until you go turbo, except for the ARP rod bolts...Skunk2 is good for the head stuff, and a mild p+p would be nice. As far as the block guard you would just order one for a B18/B20 they'll all be the same. The B16 waterpump...

When you "bled" the system did u make sure it was on an incline? If not there could be bubbles in the lines or the IACV...I had this happen to me before and all I had to do was find a little hill/incline or some ramps, park with the engine facing up hill and then rebled the system and added more...

Have u double checked your plug wire locations? If the CEL is on, jump the connector and tell us what code/codes u get. That would b a huge help.
