Exactly, check for exposed wiring, if and when you find it, tape it up. If thats not the case, I would say you have 1 or more loose wires connecting to the back of the radio, sometimes 1 or 2 wires that are in a plug get loose or a bad connection and can mess the whole thing up like that...

Sounds like there is a malfunction in the door itself, and it isn't triggering the light properly, Im not sure exactly how that works, but maybe whatever triggers the light is faulty somehow. Dig deeper.

Definatly check all the wiring, I can almost guarantee that is your problem.

Check for a screw that when you turn, it changes the direction of the headlight.
