05 Civic sedan Si troubles

Been at this for awhile now and I'm absolutely stumped.

Honda put in a ECM, didn't fix the problem.
Another (trusted) garage, told me to put in a alternator. Still nothing.

Figured, maybe the cat. Unbolted the manifold from the block, drove it 30 mins. Still nothing.

I don't know what else could be the problem.

2005 Honda civic sedan si. 5 speed,

Very poor acceleration, have to shift every 10-15kms/h or it will limit itself, no rpm guage, no tempature gauge. When first starting the car the battery light comes on, car stutters(nearly stalls 10ish times) then balances, battery light goes away, car goes into basically limp mode. And by limp mode, I mean all I stated above.

Im stumped. Advice?

For what its worth, most dealership mechanics nowadays are glorified parts changers and lack the skills to diagnose issues, which what a real technician does. Based on what you described, an alternator wouldnt cause any of those issues either.

Has the maintenance been kept up with? Provide any check-engine codes it has.

Only purchased the car two months ago, was a insurance write off replacement. Not sure of CEL's, I'll have a mechanic write them down tomorrow for you guys.

And the alternator was installed because the old one was not fully charging, so it was a place to start I guess.
