09 Civic Battery Draining

Battery will drain all the way down over night dead as if there is no battery connected. Battery is only 6 months old.

The battery is good and the alternator has been testing and is charging properly. Now when I disconnect the battery cable and reconnect, (touching the negative cable) the alternator makes a clicking noise like a rely or something is opening and closing. It's no continuous clicking. Touch the cable to the post click, remove click, touch click, etc....

I've changed many alternators through the years and never heard one do that.

There is a draw on the battery when off. Could the alternator be bad even though its charging?

who tested the alternator?
did you retestt it another place just to be certain?
Did you look for anything else that could be drawing off the battery?

Yes the alt could be draining the battery if the diodes are bad. A parasitic drain test is what should be done. Google it or I can explain if need be.

Thanks. Battery was testing 3 times. I disconnected the alternator and left the battery connected for 24 hrs and the battery was still full so the alternator is drainig the battery.

Also did the parasitic drain test before the above test. Order a new alternator.
